How did it get to this point? The keyblade wielders had gotten out of the command center an hour ago. Now they were watching a firing squad marching out to shoot Fives and Jesse. When they asked Rex, he said it was Krell's orders. They wanted to dispute these orders, but because of their impromptu demotions they couldn't overrule the orders given. But they weren't just going to let these two heroes be executed for their heroic acts. They knew it was a long shot, but maybe they could appeal to their humanity.

"This is wrong!" Riku said, "you can't just kill your brothers because they went against the general!"

"Their act was a selfless sacrifice to save everyone here!" Xion said.

"What sense is there in this? Shouldn't some orders be questioned?" Roxas asked.

"If we're blindly following orders how can we tell if they're wrong?" Axel asked.

"Isn't there any sense in breaking orders that you know are wrong?" Terra asked.

For the most part, they all exchanged similar glances of disapproval. Whether it was for the orders they were given or the pleas of the keyblade wielders, they didn't know. They followed the firing squad to the base of the command center where Fives and Jesse were already set up for their execution. One of the troopers asked if they'd like to be blindfolded. They didn't answer. The trooper took it as a "no" and ordered the executioners to ready then aim.

"Wait!" Fives shouted, "This is wrong! The general is making a mistake, and he needs to be called on it! Following orders is important, but we are not a bunch of unthinking droids! We are men!"

Axel resolved to block any fire that came close to the two. The clone ordered the squad to fire. Right as Axel was about to throw a chakram, he saw all of the blaster bolts were aimed away from the two. When the clone overseeing the execution wondered why they all missed. Rex explained it as no heroes should have to be treated like this. They were taken back to the brig.

About an hour later, Krell ordered Rex and Terra to the command center.

"I thought I ordered those clones destroyed," he said.

"A request I chose to ignore," Red said.

"And an order that I didn't know about," Terra said.

"You wielders," Krell said, "you will perform this execution instead."

"No." Terra said.

"You both are making mistakes crossing me, clone and commander."

"That's captain/general," Rex and Terra growled at the same time.

Terra could feel darkness pouring from him, but before he could act on it, they had a transmission from a clone out in the field. He reported that the Umbarans were on their way to recapture the airbase. Krell ordered Rex and Terra to lead most of the clones to try and intercept them. He also told them to be wary of the fact that the Umbarans may attempt to disguise themselves as clones.

As they all trudged through the forest looking for Umbarans, the keyblade wielders all had their keyblades out. Terra had told them what was up and they all stayed silent as they waited for any sign of the enemy. An explosion went off followed by multiple blue lasers.

"Guess Krell was right," Riku said, blocking lasers.

"I can't see the enemy!" A clone called out.

Mortars began firing into the enemy lines. The enemy positions were shown to everyone. As well as four strange silhouettes. They figured the four silhouettes were the Umbaran commanders. The five charged the commanders. When Riku brought his keyblade down to strike a commanders, he was shocked to see his keyblade strike another keyblade. It was then that all five recognized the four commanders.
