Chapter 4: Battle of Sullust

When the Venators dropped from hyperspace they saw the were too late. Several other ships were already around Sullust, and they looked nothing like the ships they came with. Alarms sounded on the ships and they launched all of their fighters. On board the Fantasy, the wielders quickly came up with a plan. Sora, Roxas, Riku, Axel, Kairi, and Xion would go in the gummiship and Vetus, Terra, and Aqua would use their keyblade armor and key-vehicles to damage the droid forces. They departed the main hangar followed by Republic star fighters. The droid forces began flying toward the small Republic fleet. When the droids were close enough, the gummiship began spinning from side to side firing its weapons. Any droid star fighter unlucky to find itself in their path was destroyed. Aqua, Terra, and Ven flew through the onslaught, occasionally bashing a couple droids, on their way to what they assumed was the main ship: a large circular ship with an orb in the center. They were able to dodge the laser fire from it and they forced themselves inside. They got a large distance inside when they all reformed their keyblades from their vehicles. As soon as their keyblades were reformed, they fell under attack from droid forces.

"How do we destroy this thing?" Terra asked, blocking the volley.

"If I remember correctly," Ven said, casting reflect on himself, "a Jedi named Anakin Skywalker managed to destroy one of these types of ships as a kid by blowing up the main reactor."

"That's nice and all," Aqua said, casting thunder then reflect, "but where is the reactor thing?"

"Did you hear that?" A droid asked its comrade, "They're after the main reactor!"

"Quickly," the comrade said, "fall back to the main reactor and protect it! I'll buy you as much time as I can."

Most of the still standing droid forces began running away from the fight. Terra cast blizzard on the one droid that stayed, and the three followed the droids. The droids stopped at a giant white glowing pillar and turned around to face them. They quickly cast fire at the pillar, formed their vehicles and flew as fast as they could. The flames smashed into the main reactor and it blew up. They got out of the ship as it's center was blowing up.

"They did it," Sora said, "now, let's take care of the other two ships."

The Republic forces hadn't lost many star fighters and the four venators weren't terribly damaged. They all surged forward to the last two ships. Terra, Aqua, and Ven flew to one of the ships, using their vehicles to slam into the guns on the ships. The gummiship opened fire on the guns on the other ship, destroying as many as they could. When the venators got on either side of the ships, they opened fire, quickly destroying the enemy ships. The wielders went back to the Fantasy and were greeted by Captain Twi on the bridge. There was a hologram of the world.

"Generals," he said, "there's a Separatist command center at this location."

A red dot appeared in the northern hemisphere.

"So far," he continued, "the droids haven't made any movements outside of their base of operations. If we hit them from orbit, we can end this occupation before it even begins."

"What about the people of the world?" Ven asked.

"They're holed up underground. The chances of any of then being hit by a turbolaser is slim."

"That 'slim' is what I'm worried about."

"Well, what would you suggest?"

"If we took our ships that you saved us with on Geonosis," Sora said , "and we take down their outer defenses, we should be able to then attack the base easily."

"No good," Twi responded, "they have anti-air cannons. We get the LAATs anywhere near those, they'll be shot put of the sky."

"What about landing some AT-TEs a long distance away," Axel said, "and having them take out the anti-air cannons?"
