Chapter 5: Truth or dare.

"ZAYN," I screamed with joy the minute I stepped out of the test room. Despite the exhaustion from the test lasting two hours, I was overjoyed because I had earned good grades this time. I was grateful to him for helping me. I wanted to thank him. If it weren't for him, I couldn't have gotten a grade close to this. Right now, finding him was the most important thing. He was just passing the corner, returning from his class, when he heard me yell his name. I ran over to him while a smile formed on his face.

"So, I assume your test went well," he remarked.

"Very" I smile wide, overcome with excitement. "Thank you," I replied and hugged him tightly."It was all because of you," I state and plant a kiss on his cheek.

Surprise flooded his eyes as he remained frozen in place. I break the hug and look up at him."You-you're wel-welcome," He stammered.

Later, headed towards the cafeteria, and found Niall and Kelly snogging, no surprise over there, and Liam and Pearl talking.

"Niall is throwing a party, so everyone should attend, and you can celebrate Clara's success as well," Kelly stated.

I nod. "I'm definitely up for it,"

"So, it's settled then."

As I approached Niall's house, it was 6:45 pm. In my blue ripped jeans and white tank top, I wore a leather jacket that hugged my body. As I walked towards the house, I realized it was the same house from the party I attended a few weeks back. How could I possibly be so dumb? Niall and Harry are brothers. Perhaps they lived together, in which case Harry would be there. As the realization hit me, I turned around to walk back to my house. Hopefully, no one has seen me yet. I walked back out of the front yard onto the street when I heard a familiar sound.

"CLARA" Kelly shouted, she strolled over towards me. "There you are".

 She tugged my hand and pulled me inside. I couldn't think of a logical excuse at the moment to leave, because Kelly found me, and she would not take no for an answer. I huffed and let Kelly drag me back to the party.

Walking inside the house, I took the drink Kelly gave me. The hot liquid ran down my throat and made me a tad bit wobbly. Although I did not have a high resistance to alcohol, it made me lightheaded, which was exactly what I needed if I was going to have to face  him. I drank a few more drinks and looked around the place. There were people everywhere, either drinking or dancing. My eyes wandered over the place until they finally met the familiar green eyes. As usual, there was max with him. She was tugging his hand with her own, while she took a drink. He held the gaze whilst I sighed and turned with my back facing him. Why did I have to see him?. I will just sit here and wait for some time, then leave, so Kelly won't doubt my time being here.

But obviously, that didn't happen.Soon after, Pearl & Lucas approached me. Pearl sat beside me on the drinks' stool and we chatted for a few moments before she left to help Niall with the drinks. Lucas sat down on the stool  which was earlier occupied by Pearl.He looked in my direction with apologetic eyes. I knew where this was going.

He took a deep breath and said, "I'm sorry Clara, I don't know what I was thinking." His tone showed sincerity in his words.
