Kelly grabbed Harry out of reach of other's ears shortly after Clara left the party. She stooped in the ground's corner, and after checking there was no one around, she turned to him.

"Harry, what's wrong with you?" she asked, taking rushed breaths. "Explain!"

He couldn't answer anything to her, so he kept his head down and shuffled his feet. He was guilty as charged, and he knew what he did was immensely wrong and completely out of his character. But he was helpless. There was nothing he could've done to help the situation. If something, he would've only made it much worse.

"I know I haven't been supportive of your relationship with Clara because I was scared you would hurt her, and that is exactly what happened today. But deep down, I was waiting for the day you would prove me wrong. Because she has been- different from the time you came into her life. I don't know whether it's good or bad, but she has changed- for worse or for better, and I like that change, as it has been many days, months or years since she felt any emotion and expressed it wholeheartedly. She is more alive whenever she is around you, and I never want her to go back to being that dull creature again...so please tell me why did you not speak anything, why you haven't run after her, or why you haven't bet that arse to death yet," she said without taking a break for breathing, and at this rate she should be in the Guinness book of world records.

"I- " he started, but couldn't find the right words to finish the sentence. There was dead silence between them, as she was waiting for his answer. She tapped her foot frantically, wishing he would open his stupid mouth and speak.

"You are not going to speak, are you? Because you don't have any answer." Kelly whispered.

"Wait, you don't believe that act, do you? Do you honestly think it was all Clara?" she asked when he wouldn't mutter a word.

She took the camera which has been dangling from her neck and did something with the buttons which Harry didn't understand. After a while, she stopped and turned the camera towards him.

Harry squinted his eyes at the sudden brightness, but felt a jolt in his body when he saw Max speaking to Lucas in the picture Kelly was showing.

"This is clearly a set up, they must have been planning this one for long enough. Do you still not believe Clara?" she asked, getting angrier by the moment.

After a prolonged pause, he replied, "With or without the picture, I would never doubt Clara for a second."

"Then why are you not supporting her? Why are you siding with the enemy? WHY?" she yelled, feeling her pulse quicken.

Harry was not replying for any answer she gave, then why is she still here waiting for a reasonable answer when he was determined not to give any. If she is here any longer, she would lose it. Maybe she was right all along, he was nothing but a liability in Clara's life. All she was met with was disappointment from the minute she spoke to him, and it was utterly pointless speaking to a stone.

"You know something? Maybe you and Max deserve each other after all, a person who commits the crime and a person who keeps quiet about it are a match made in heaven. Have a pleasant life together. Goodbye," she said, and ran away from their not wanting to stay a minute more wherever he is.

She wanted to smash Harry's face in the cake and wasn't scared about Niall, she can deal with him later.

"Ah! What a delightful conversation. Were you looking for this?" Harry heard a voice to his right, and he noticed Max approaching him.

"Why do you have my phone?" he asked, and snatched it from her neatly manicured hands.

"No need to be angry with me, I was just attending some business, there's nothing for you to worry about," she said grinning, seeming completely unbothered by what just happened minutes ago.

"Max, why did you do it?"

"What are you talking about? What did I do?" she asked, acting absolutely clueless.

"Cut the crap. Do you seriously think I would not know that you were behind everything?"

"Oh! don't get angry, I was just saving you from her. I know you have been caught up in whatever mess she's dragged you into, and I was simply helping you out of it. If she is even a tad sensible, she would never want to see you again. There, problem solved. Now we can go back to being happy, the way we were before"

"Max, what is it with you? This is down, even for a person like you. How heartless can you be, do something like that to any human being, let alone Clara. She has been nothing but a delight to me in my messed up life. And you ruined it. I will never forgive you for it, in my life. You know that right?" Harry said frustrated with her twisted actions.

"Don't say that, please. Listen to me, I love you." Max said, her heart beating faster now.

"If you truly loved me, you would know that I would never want her to get hurt, even a little by be. But you have caused immeasurable pain to her, and SHE would never forgive me. I never imagined, you would steep so low just to make an innocent person suffer. It's over between us Max, it was long ago, but we were too blind to notice it."

"Don't behave like that, I know you have been hanging out with her, and I know you do stuff with her. I caught you red handed during the trip, but still, I let it slide so that I can keep you. But you two kept getting closer to the level, I couldn't bear anymore. YOU were the one who cheated on me, over and over again while still dating. So don't you dare tell me that I'm the only one who's wrong. You are as bad as me, or even worse."

Harry stood still for a moment and then said in a monotone voice "Whatever was going on between me and Clara in this little time was more real than whatever we had for years. And you know that, but you don't want to admit it. It's really over. I never want to see your face again"

"Harry, I-I'm sorry. I will never hurt Clara again, I promise. I will stay away from her, we will go off to some far place, very distant from her, and we- we'll...marry and ha-have kids. I will love you so much that you will forget Clara and everything that reminds you of her. Please, please don't walk away from me.  Please, I beg you" she said falling down to her knees.

That was it for Harry, she was behaving like a psychotic person and was acting strange. It was like he had been living with another person, and this one was a person he never met. He had the impulse to go towards her and help her up but he stopped and turned on his heel to walk away from her.

If he was giving in now, he could never walk away from here. Instead, he fights with himself and lets her cry. He felt like a person with no heart, for not helping her but he was doing what was best for him and for her. He walked away and never turned back again.

***

This chapter has been very sad to write for me :(( I feel sorry for Max though, even if she is a psycho. What do you think about Harry in this chapter? Was he right in walking away from Max?

If you were Clara, would you ever forgive him? What is going to happen between Clara and Harry? Will they go back to being - whatever they were, or will they say goodbye forever?

Leaving you with all these stirring questions, I'm signing off.

I think 'Traitor' song is the perfect example for Max lol.

BTW, sorry for the late update. I am out of town and a little busy, but I hope this chapter is worth the wait.

XOXO,

1D GIRL.
