~The Summer of 2014~
I drank a piña colada with my feet dangling in the water of the King's pool.
I watched Thomas walk back over and sit next to me.
They hosted a summer kick-off party at their pool for the whole neighborhood, plus Max.
I was wearing a bathing suit and big sunglasses and a flower tucked behind my ear. It wasn't really me, but Madison and Melissa wouldn't let me go to a party with Thomas without dolling me up every once in a while.
"How's the drink?" he asked.
I smiled after taking another sip. "Good, did you make this?"
He gave me a look. "Yeah, definitely."
I laughed and he put an arm around me.
"Love you, Jos," he said.
"Love you too, Thomas."
I watched Jake jump in the water.
Max had his arm around Madison. They did make a cute couple.
I took a breath.
"What are you thinking about?" he asked.
"A year ago, you were new here."
He laughed. "Yeah, I was."
"A year ago I didn't know if I liked you or not."
"Do you like me now?"
I smiled against his lips.
"Um... yeah. I think I do."
