15. Red Weighs the Same

Later that Night

"The Survey Scouts found no evidence of a breach at any point in wall Rose. The wall is still perfectly intact" One of the Scout leaders says to the group.

The higher-ups called an emergency meeting between all of the Scout regiment Leaders. The only reason I'm here is because I'm supposed to be attached to Hanji at the hip since Stohess. The entire group convinces on how titan sightings are possible inside wall rose without there being any actual damage to the wall to let them in. I have to admit it makes no sense to me. I'm a soldier. I fight, I do the dirty work, I leave all the extra stuff to the higher-ups or at least that's supposed to be how it works.

I stand next to the door with my head down while they sit at a large table in the center of the room and talk about how ere going to retaliate. I try to zone out in an attempt to rid myself of the boredom I feel standing in this room.

"Y/N" I spoke too soon. One of the higher-ups calls my name from the head of the table and I look up to face them.

"That's my name," I respond.

Heads shake at my tone and others just roll their eyes. It's always been clear I'm not very well-liked around here. I mean to be fair, there are maybe three people in this room who tried to have me executed not so long ago so if anyone's feelings should be hurt they should be mine.

"You, Commander Hanji, Captain Levi, along with our special guest will accompany Eren Jager and his companions to Utgard Castle" One of my higher-ups whose name I will never bother to learn instructed me.

I pick myself up from my lean against the door and continue out the door and I wait at the end of the hall for Levi and Hanji to finish their business.

The boss man instructed us to find out what the pastor knows if anything else. And trust me I plan on getting answers me way or another.

"You know you can't just leave a meeting like that without being dismissed," Levi says to me as he and Hanji approach me.

They both walk so differently I could almost laugh. Levi walks calmly and slow like he's got nowhere to be, he even has his hands in his pockets.

Hanji on the other hand walks with excitement in their steps. It's cute.

"I know that, and yet" I respond as I make my way to Hanji's side as we all continue to walk to the Buildings entrance.

"So have you two heard anything since Erwin was taken in for questioning?" I ask as we continue through the building. Hanji and Levi both turn their heads to me.

"You told her that?" Levi accused Hanji.

"She didn't have to, half of Stohess was devastated after what Eren and Annie did. I knew someone was going to have to answer for it. And now that I know Erwin won't be accompanying us on this assignment it was all but confirmed that Erwins taking the blow for what happened. I wasn't me hundred percent sure until  I saw your reactions though" I interrupted.

Levi just sighed at me and we all continued walking in comfortable silence for about a minute.

We made our way to the cart that would be taking all of us to Utgard. Levi, Mikasa, and Armin sit there talking to each other. As close-knit as ever. I sit directly in front of Eren next to Hanji.
