<Y/N's POV>
After meals, all of the soldiers who were present at the facility when Sawney and Bean were murdered were called to present their ODM gear for a formal inspection to try and find the soldier who used their gear without clearance.
Of course, this was a private investigation being conducted by the military police but I did make a promise to Hanji, and even after everything that happened yesterday with them I do intend to keep it.
I made my way to the room where the inspections were being held. I stepped into the room and normally they would have a kicked out any snooping soldiers but let's say that being a super soldier that no scientist completely understands or knows how to stop has its perks.
Of course, people have no trouble saying no to and telling off Eren but come on the kid may be able to shift into a fifteen-meter titan but as a human Erens about as intimidating as a squirrel.
I walked to the entrance of the room and it was pretty much just a silent agreement that no one was going to stop me. I kept myself still at the threshold of the door and didn't wander any farther.
I watched each of the soldiers as they all presented their gear. Nothing strikes me as odd at first until my eyes wandered over to Armin.
But it wasn't exactly Armin I was watching. It was more that I was watching who he was watching. Even though my eyes fixed on Armin at first I noticed that even though Connie was trying to have a conversation with him his eyes never left the cold face of a certain blonde.
'Annie Leinhart huh? Now, what could the brainiac be watching you so closely for?" I asked myself silently.
I found out all that this inspection was going to tell me, so I left the room silently. I didn't draw much attention with my arrival and my exit didn't catch any eyes either. I'm kind of an expert at going unnoticed by people.
It's how I survived. If you constantly have eyes on you then you won't be able to do what you need to, so you blend in. You hide in the shadows. You become darkness. Armin noticed something that no one else did. But what was it that he noticed?
Short Timeskip
In the midst of everything, I had almost forgotten that today is the day that the rest of the 104th will choose which regiment they want to join. So, I made my way to Ymir and Crista's room.
After I was assigned to stay here under the supervision of the section commander, I saw my comrades again. After they had seen what I had done and then heard about the mission to seal the wall in Trost they were left with nothing but questions.
When I first got back they all gave me some sappy speech about how my abilities didn't change the way they saw me. Of course, that wasn't before Jean tried to sell me some lame-ass speech about proving that I was worth dying for.
I never claimed to be worth dying for though and I told him that. Quite frankly it's the opposite anyone that believes I'm worth dying for is nothing short of an idiot.
I made my way down the hallways of the living quarters all the way to Ymir and Crista's room. I knocked on the door and Ymir opened it with the smirk she usually wears across her face when she greets me.
