Lily's POV
We'd been at school for about three weeks now. I had gotten way closer to Remus, and left Sev behind. He didn't seem to mind too much, though. He had made a lot of friends.
I sat in the library. The sun was starting to go down. I looked out of the window and zoned out. If you looked very very closely, you could see the moon very vaguely. Suddenly, Remus stood up and left.
I zoned back in and followed him, leaving all my stuff behind. "Remus? Remus? Where are you going? You can say 'bye' to me, it won't hurt you."
Remus stopped in his tracks but didn't look at me. He said in a hoarse voice, "I'm just -er- not feeling well. I'm going to head down to Madam Pomfrey..." he seemed hesitant about it, but I didn't question him.
"Okay. See you," I answered. I tried to hug him, but he shook me off and walked away. I walked back to our table in the library and found he hadn't cleaned any of his stuff. I stuffed everything in our bags and took it to the dungeons.
First I got up to my own dorm and dumped everything there. Then I went to the boys' dorms. I knew no guys were able to get into the girls' dorms, but we could.
I searched for Remus' dorm and when I found it, I also found a black- haired boy sitting on their own bed. I tried to silently place his bag onto his bed, but Severus noticed me.
"Lily? What are you doing.. here?" I stood up straight and answered honestly: "Sev, I was bringing Remus' bag, because he felt sick." That made Severus a little grumpy. We had been studying together, and he hadn't been invited.
I could not care less, so I turned around, walked out the room and slammed the door close a little too hard.
I could not sleep the entire night, as I was thinking about Remus. I decided to go to the common room. It was placed underneath the Great Lake. The lights are dim, but that brings a nice atmosphere with it.
The sun was slowly coming up, I knew. I had brought one of my muggle- books. I sat on one of the couches, my legs crammed against my chest. I was reading my book, as I heard tiny footsteps on the floor.
I didn't want to look, but somewhere I was scared what it could be, so I looked around. "Remus!" I excitedly brought out. "Sorry.. heh.." I added whispering.
He wasn't wearing shoes. "Lily." I put away my book and ran up to him. I gave him a hug, as I do a lot. Now, it felt different. He was sort of stiff, didn't hug me back. He was shivering and the most scary of all, I felt something on his back.
Something that felt like.. a wound? "Remus what happened?" I asked. "Remus what happened to your back? Remus?" Remus pulled himself free and pushed me away. "I'm tired." He said, and went to his dorm.
I scratched my lip. What was up with this boy.
About a month later, I sat in the common room, Remus in front of us, Sylvia next to me. She was helping us with our charms homework. "Sylvia, you are amazing!" I said.
"Thanks a million," Remus added, a bit blunt. "But I'm done." I looked over at his essay. It wasn't even half done. I remember the sorting head telling me I was determined, "perfect for Slytherin". If that were the perfect Slytherin trait, I wondered why Remus had been sorted here.
"See you," I said. He, once again, left everything he had been using behind and went upstairs to his dorm. Not too long after, he got down again and left the common room.
It felt so weird. I wanted to follow him. See what he was up to. Sylvia, next to me, stood up. "I'm off to do some," she pointed at her badge, "perfect duties!" She laughed and hugged me before she walked off.
