"What the fuck?!" Nerris shrieked when she answered her door.

"Hi!" Nikki said kindly, and hugged Nerris.

"What the fuck," Nerris said again, looking at Neil in the eyes.

"I said the same thing," Neil said.

"So did I," Nikki said, pulling away from the hug. "How are you?"

"Fine. Fine. Come in, please!"

Neil and Nikki shuffled into the apartment and Nerris closed and locked the door. "How is this not a prank?"

"Your boyfriend performed a ritual."

"Um, Nikki, they broke up," Neil said awkwardly, clearing his throat.

"Actually..."

"What? Are you back together?" Neil asked excitedly.

"Not sure. But we've certainly been talking a lot more lately," Nerris explained.

"Do you have orange juice?" Nikki asked.

"Um, yeah," Nerris said. She walked over to the fridge. "Is it weird? Being back after dying?"

"Kind of. It feels like a dream."

"That's weird."

"It is, but I don't even remember the afterlife. That was the dream within a dream."

"Hm," Nerris said, handing the orange juice she'd poured to Nikki. "This is very weird. Seeing you. I don't know. It's so weird."

Nikki smiled.

"Does your family know?" Nerris asked.

Nikki shook her head. "I won't tell them. I want to fly under the radar as long as possible."

"You're legally dead, how the hell are you supposed to live your normal life?" Nerris asked.

Nikki shrugged.

"I didn't even think about that," Neil said, "Would we have to go to the police station and just say you turned up or something?"

"Or I could just get a fake identity. Ooh, that'd be so fun! I'd get to make up a whole story about my new life. What if I'm a Russian spy? That'd be so fun."

"That would be fun," Nerris said, "We could call Meredith and ask her for her dads' contact information."

"Hold up, Meredith? As in Ered? From Camp?" Neil asked, confused.

"Yeah, we've been talking a lot. Since I'm leaving for the west coast next month, and she lives there. She's working now, so it's pretty cool."

"Oh wow," Neil said, "We all have to come out and visit you."

"Is Harrison going to be in California too?" Nikki asked.

"Yeah, but he's not going to college. He's going to perform magic and stuff and try to get gigs."

Neil snorted rudely. "Sorry... sorry."

"It's... fine?" Nerris said awkwardly. "Nikki... I... I missed you."

"I missed you too," Nikki said, even though once again, she had no idea who or what she missed while she was gone. There was nothing there.

Neil took Nikki to his apartment when they left. They stopped at a bodega to get some groceries, but then, they got in and watched a movie. It was just like old times and somehow made him want to cry.

He heard the door being unlocked and Preston huff as he walked inside. "It is so fucking hot outside, I can't. Oh, hey Nikki."

"Hey," Nikki said.

"Come," Neil said, gesturing Preston over. "How was the show?"

"Fine," Preston said, dropping his bag on the floor and snuggling up next to Neil. "When did you get here, Nikki?"

"We came here after we saw Nerris," Neil explained.

"Oh, that's nice," he said, "And of course, watching Coco."

"It's such a good movie!" Nikki said.

"Doesn't hit too close to home?" Preston joked.

Nikki laughed. "Honestly, no. I liked this movie before I died and I will continue to like it after."

"Ha, well that's nice," Preston said.

"And the songs are so good," Neil said, "Win win."

They finished the movie, and Nikki actually decided to stay on their couch until she wanted to go back to Camp Camp.
