Alcina's P.O.V
I had truly felt despair the moment Mother Miranda had torn me from Alexandria's side, knowing that she wished to use her as a vessel for her experiments, knowing well what my fate would be for defying my creator and ruler. I had not cared, merely wishing to protect and defend the woman I loved, fighting as valiantly as I could without causing harm to the sleeping beauty upon my bed, but it had not been enough. I was quickly defeated, and captured, tied down to a stone pillar deep underground, my wounds deep and bloody, causing me to weaken, and be unable to break the bonds holding me down. Hot tears slid down my face, as I wondered what would become of my lover, unworried about my own destiny.
I knew all too well that Mother Miranda would prey on Alex's desperation to find me, likely using me as living bait to lure her in like some disgusting fish to catch on a hook. I could only hope that my siblings would not allow her out of their sight, and that would remain safe inside my castle, though that hope was extinguished entirely, as I saw her enter the cavern, her eyes widening as they landed upon me. Though she likely knew the price she would have to pay for my safety, she did not seem worried at all about that, running towards me instead, worry and fear for my well-being the only thing clear on her face. I felt my body jerk with shock, as Alex was sent flying back against a wall, pain clear in her eyes as she stood up again, she and Mother Miranda exchanging words about a deal.
My blood boiled with fury, as I caught a few words here and there, my body trying to give in to its exhaustion to heal properly, but I could not rest, as I heard my lover willingly sacrifice her own body and blood for mine, as if it meant nothing to her. I had always known she was protective and stubborn, but never once had I considered that she would be so foolish as to believe the word of one such as Mother Miranda, shock and horror filling her gaze, as Miranda's claws embedded themselves deep within my chest, my body going numb and limp, as I let it, playing dead. Surely, if there was no hope in saving me then, Alexandria would run away and save herself, but I should have known better.
I heard her enraged growls as if from far away, then a sickening crunch of bones smashing into stone soon followed, and I forced my eyes to open weakly. My heart nearly stopped, as I saw a rock wall nearby shattered to pieces from the force of Alex's body slamming against it, and felt hot tears burn my eyes. There was a very slim chance that she had been able to survive that, and yet, I could hear a faint heartbeat, along with the sound of bones crunching and grinding together, the wet sound of flesh ripping and being reshaped, and knew what was happening, though I could not force myself to believe it was true. I myself despised my true form, as did my siblings, for we knew how painful and horrid they were, and now, I was witnessing the woman I loved transforming in front of me, going through that very same torture.
Mother Miranda watched the rocks that Alex had fallen behind carefully, like the crows she so strangely cared for, and she muttered, "Well, Alcina, it would seem that she cannot be my subject after all. She will have to be exterminated completely. I wonder what hideous beast she is becoming.." I too wondered that exact same thing, and felt my heart clench with terror, as a giant.. Furred hand grasped onto the rocks, followed by an arm as long as my own, razor sharp claws shining in the dim light. Fur covered every inch of skin, black as the night, and as the other arm followed suit, a giant beast stood to its full height. It was well muscled, its face that of a true wolf, unlike the Lycans I so despised. Its golden eyes burned with pure hatred, as they landed on Mother Miranda, and its fur stood on end with rage all over its body, as it opened its jaws, baring its rows of razor sharp fangs inside its mouth.
There was a tail there, too, bristled and rough looking, much like that of a normal wolf, though this creature was anything but normal, and it even terrified me. There was a primal aura about it, as if it had been alive for far longer than any of us, and I had no doubt that its ancestors dated back to before I had even existed. Enraged snarls tore from the beast's chest, as it slid its claws against the stone, creating sparks, as if sharpening them, and I shuddered, seeing Mother Miranda smiling. "So this is the truest form of Alexandria Frost! At last, your true inner demon is released! You are a mere beast, hungering for flesh and destruction, and I shall put you down like the rabid dog you are."
