Celestina's POV
This day has been really unexpected. I couldn't believe it. If somebody had told me this is where I would land on this specific day, I would have, well, knocked them out. Certainly, a surprise for the past me. R.I.P me. It's okay, you'll be okay. Oh, shut up. You saw this coming, actually, you brought this upon yourself. My mind sassed. Oh, shut up, you. Well, me. Us? Just shush.
Before I launch into a self monologue, I'll recall the events of today.
November 27.The hypnotizing flashback screen and into the far far far away past.
Luca and I woke at the same time. The children we were forced with still laid on the couch and floor. They flopped themselves in an unattractive manner. As good friends, we obviously took blackmail pictures in terrible angles. This will their birthday presents or if Alena tries to talk about being godmother to our children. She will think twice before she utters word, a picture of her smushed between Lucy and Jake and open mouth with drool and a very bad hair day will certainly shut her. I learned much later, it did not.
Luca refused to stay and bother me more. Surprisingly weird. He went home to clean himself up for the study date. Shit, I mean, study session. It wasn't a date. Sure, whatever floats your boat. My mind interrupted.
I didn't bother waking up the sloppy dogs. After a refreshing shower, I stepped out to pick my outfit. What do I wear? How about a summer dress and a hat with sunglasses since it's beach time? My mind quibbled. Die, honestly die. You end me, you end yourself. Ugh.
Before heading out, I did a bad thing which I don't feel guilty for. I set consecutive alarms every minute for 20 minutes in four of my friend's phones. I could only find four phones. I obviously hid the phones. You generally suck but this was funny and I approve. My mind praised me. Well, there is a first for everything.
It made sense to take one car instead of separate cars. Date? Moving on, Luca and I landed in a cafe for a quick coffee. Date? We head to the library. No words were exchanged except coffee orders but a very comfortable silence hung around. We weren't best friends but we weren't strangers. He agreed with that, too.
Gulping the coffees to avoid getting chewed out by the librarian, we moved forward. That was a bad idea, the coffee was scalding hot. Neither of us were willing to admit that. We settled down.
"Where is the book?" I whispered as the librarian shot us a dirty look. I didn't do anything. He shot up and held up his finger, motioning me to wait. I nodded and continued checking his work. I would have stayed in my seat but the librarian looked at me like I had come here with bad intentions. How could I stay here and not mess with her?
I smiled sweetly as I walked past her to find Luca at the end of room in the other side. Poor Mrs. Something.
He didn't even acknowledge my presence. "Did you come here to corner me?" He quipped as I leaned against the shelf. "Hmm, it's only fair after what you did." A smile peaked at the corner of my lips. Somebody stop the sun rising in my chest. On it. My mind popped up. I casually checked him out. What's the harm?
He was dressed in a semi formal manner. He had pretty good fashion sense. His clothes hugged his figure finely. Date? Why does he always look like he is in and out of meetings rather than a college kid? If I question about something that doesn't seem to add about him, I'd be the one who'd lose. He is playing the part of a normal rich entitled boy when he is so much more.
