Celeste's POV

"Are you going to explain what that was?" Alena asked for twenty eighth time. Yeah, I counted. You would think she would give up.

"Before you start squealing, 'we are your otp'. Don't. The conversation sounded so much better when you are in our shoes." I muttered as I stood in the line to the barista. I thought this was diner.

"I bet it was." I gave her a hard look. "Doesn't really scare me." She smiled widely. Why would anyone look so lively in having coffee in the night? Did she already have like 5 rounds of it already? "Wasn't meant to."

"Seriously, what happened in your house? What permission?" She asked me softly. "We weren't shacking. What the hell does that look and voice mean?" I rolled my eyes.

"What happened?" She pressed. "I baked." I said, tired of her questioning. "Who baked who?" I sighed loudly and looked at her incredulously. "What is wrong with you? What happened in your childhood?"

"You are really supplying my head with more stuff to say. So....." She drawled on. "I baked chocolate croissants. I didn't want him to take one. He asked politely. That was the permission about." Her mouth formed an 'oh' and she nodded her head like a bulb lit up above her head.

"I get that. Perfect story. I don't really the connection to the 'you calling him sire' part." She smiled again. We reached the counter. The barista looked at me up and down and nodded his head with a smirk. "I was being sarcastic. I deepened my voice to talk like a butler."

"He thought you were being serious." She shrugged. "He was being sarcastic. Are you unable to detect sarcasm?" I explained calmly. I was raging in the inside. "Why did he even make the comment? He doesn't really talk like that. Ever."

"I quote and I said, 'No, sire. I wish you would.' When he asked if he ever made a sexual comment to me?" She looked at me. Just stared at me. "Even though, it sounds like complete bull shit. I choose to believe you." I rolled my eyes.

After ordering, she spoke again. "But promise me something."

"What?" I asked her softly.

"Promise me that I would be the first one to know if you are pregnant with his child and the godmother."

"Dio mio. Will you ever stop?" She laughed. We went back to the table. They didn't really question it. I knew the girls would ask later. Freaking nosy girls. Alec and asshole were on their phone. They looked slightly serious.

"Actually, I have to go. I'll take the coffee to go." Asshole spoke up. He walked away to the counter. Alec shortly flashed his phone up. "I have to go, too." He walked away to the counter. He frowned when he talked to asshole who looked relatively calm.

"Whatever. We have this psychology project, I think. We will be partnered up. It's already been chosen." The entire table groaned. "With my luck, I would probably end with a cheerleader or even worse, the official manwhore Luke." Lucy whined.

"You will, alright. If it is him, just warn him you have a taser and hold up your phone." Alena said. "My phone?" Lucy questioned confused. "Yeah, how is he going to know the difference?" I spoke for Alena. She high-fived me. "Took the words from my mouth."

"Bye, you guys." Alec said and he left with asshole waving slightly at us. Do I need to remember his name? Not really. My phone was vibrating with messages. "Who is it?" Carlotta asked.

"From my planet. They finally got connection. They are coming for you." I said seriously. They laughed while Carlotta rolled her eyes with a tense smile. I checked my phone to see Alex texting me.

Alex: Where are you? I have to talk to you. It's about crimson.

Celeste: Why would you text me that?

Alex: It's important.

"I have to go. See you guys in the psychology class." I exclaimed as I took a sip of the coffee. "If I have another sip of this coffee, I would be awake all night." I took the coffee in my hand. "I thought you would be awake all night if you had that coffee."

"It's good. It's chocolate." They laughed as I shrugged nonchalantly. Carlotta looked at me suspiciously. I motioned to my phone and mouthed the words 'father'. She nodded understandably. "Bye, guys and girls."

"Thanks for acknowledging us." Alena shouted. I threw in a mock curtesy. "Always."

"What about crimson?"

"They are flying under radar."

"Not surprising."

"Do you want to indulge?"

"No."

Luca's POV

"Why would they call me for this?" Alec asked for third time.

"Because you are my best mate." I snided at him sarcastically.

"Okay, forget about business. What is going on?"

"What do you mean?"

"You know what I mean."

"No, I don't."

"With Celeste, what was that?"

"What was what?"

"Don't deflect. The fighting and the hostility. And the flirting."

"I wouldn't call it a fight. She just annoys me. And I have never flirted with her." I defended each of his question.

"You sure you don't like her? As far as we know, I'm never getting the girl. You have a choice. Yet, you pretend you don't."

"No, you pretend you don't have a choice. Carlotta likes you as much as you like her. If you choose to be the way you are or change, that's your choice." I stood up and scoffed. "What are you suggesting? I like her? I should like her? I shouldn't like her? Celeste is merely distraction. I don't sleep around like you. I'm not mirror. Get a reality check."

I walked away before he could say anything. "Lukey, where have you been?" Casper spoke up. "Good lord, who brought you here?"

"You might have been a little harsh on him." My uncle spoke up. "You said I was the boss. So, I will do as I please." I smiled sarcastically. He rolled his eyes. "You have a message from your father."

"Casper, go make sure you packed everything." He commanded. "But—" "Go, Casper."

"It's about the eagles."

"Is that what you call them? Couldn't you just say business rivals?" I rolled my eyes. "Do you want to indulge?"

"No."
