"IT'S BEEN A WHILE..."

Everything about Mikasa is engaging and gratifying. And well, she should be proud of it but she's too forgiving when it comes to you. That's why you could never forgive yourself for what you did.

"I love your skirt. It suits you. "

She always glances at your soft thighs when you sit down. Also can see your underwear peeking under your skirt as you slightly bend over. Making her shift around in her seat.

"You hungry?" Mikasa asks as she turns a corner of the wall, entering Ymir's small kitchen. "Cause I can cook you something. Maybe your favorite dish I always make." She glances at you, watching your face lit up like a kid at a candy store.

Her eyes watches as you stand next to her in the kitchen, handing you over the pot to put water in. Mikasa looks at you from the corner of her eye, gouging out your reaction before clearing her throat.

"I missed you."

You trail off with embarrassment from how low you spoke, looking into her eyes for help, hoping she'll answer your statement or laugh it off with you.

She doesn't, just smiled

As soon as you put the pot on the stove, you started walking back to the living room, watching her turn the stove on without speaking.

You frown to yourself, remembering your own words. Mikasa is very reserved, but let her be, she's been through enough. You were careful to not make any noise as she prepare lunch.

Morning turns into noon and you're still in the living room. You hear Mikasa hum or rummage around the cabinets. She stir the soup around in the pot, sprinkling in some herbs and seasonings.

She peered up at you, holding the spoon full of soup in front of you.

"Okay Y/N, have a taste."

Your eyes locked on hers as you take a sip, humming at the flavor of the soup. You pulled away to think about the taste.

"A little more salt."

After a few stirs, she scoop the liquid back into the spoon and hold it up to you again. Mikasa leaned forward, holding the spoon out to you. She pull the spoon away, she remains close to you.

You watch as her eyes close gently while your palms sweating. Tension remains in the small space between you two. You know it- you know it's coming, her lips right near yours...

'Just one taste'

"I'm home, my darlings!"

Mikasa drop the spoon. You can hear her sigh a little, but she composes himself quickly as Ymir makes her way into the kitchen. She sees the two of you sitting, missing how stiff the both of you look.

"Oh my, Y/N it's been too long since I last saw you. The group wants to hang out. Should I call them for dinner."

"You should. That's a great idea."

"Hey Mikasa, maybe you can bring that girl you've been talking to."

The sound of glass fell onto the floor as you stare at Mikasa in shock. Your eyes flash with pain and Mikasa turned around to look at you before you can see a pity stare.

She soon found out you're mouthy when drunk right after dinner. You continue to chug on liquor as Reiner and Marco cheer you on. Her face flashes with disappointment when you stumble across the living room to sit with Sasha and not her.

In your drunken state, you sat down while snacking on food in Ymir's pantry till she put a lock on the door. Sang Hamilton and Hannah Montana songs with Armin and Jean. Almost broke your ankle in the process of having a dance battle with Connie. And had a 25 minute conversation with Mikasa's cat, Kage.

"Y/N, can we speak outside now?"

You clumsily spins on your heel, trips on your feet causing you to laugh slightly. Mikasa said your name again but harshly. You stiffen. You gently place your hands on her back and push her towards the door slowly– your touch makes her smile.

"Y/N..."

"Just shut up for once."

Mikasa's quiet after that, looking out at the city with sad eyes. She hates that you keep your distance, hates that you see her as some crush crazies woman who will crush you beneath the soles of her shoes if you utter something wrong.

"A girlfriend huh?"

"Why are you upset? Weren't you the one who didn't like me?"

You freeze in your spot. There's so much such going on in your mind. You turned to her, giving her a nonchalant look. Her ears feel terrifyingly warm, feeling like a child getting scolded by their parents.

"You gotta stop fighting me. You have to believe me when I say it takes time. "

"But..."

"Go ahead and have fun with everyone else. I have a call to make."

The wind blew strong making your eyes sting. She read your body language, knowing she should leave for making anything worse. She gave you a long look before walking back in. Reaching out for your phone, you put it against your ear, hearing it ring.

One time...

Two times...

"I've waiting for you to call."
