I was scrolling through Instagram bored out of my mind, I hear my door creak. Causing me to lower my phone and see Aunt Lisa peeking through; I smiled big ever since I moved here to these apartments I've haven't actually spent as much time with my Aunt, yeah we went to the movies that one time but that was the last time since she was busy showing houses and selling them to families.
"Hey sugar bug!" She hollered out with a big smile opening her arms as I got up running into her arms wrapping mine around her waist as she wrapped hers around me.
We hugged for a bit, I honestly missed her being in my life but I get it, she has work and so do I speaking of, I work at a retail shop; it's a tiny shop; Martina needed a cashier so I applied for it since I had experience from my old fastfood jobs as cashier as well. She hired me, we worked out a flexible schedule for me, it's currently going good I've only been working there for three weeks.
"Hi auntie Lis, how come you didn't text or call?" I asked as we made our way to the kitchen, I made my way to the cup cabinet grabbing me a glass as I waited for a response she made her self comfortable on one of the bar tools. "Well I just wanted to pop up and ask you something real quick" she started, "so I'm getting a two week vacation off of work, and since it's been months since we've been home I was wondering if you and the girls are up for visiting Dallas?" She asked, I was stunned "really?" I asked still surprised, we haven't been home in forever, feels like forever but still I missed my home town. "Can we ask the girls?" I asked, "Of course! We're gonna go out to eat, what time does the girls get off of work?" Aunt Lisa asked, I passed a glass of water to her; she took it "oh well, Jess gets off at four, and Mandy gets off at five" I let out. "Alright I'll book a reservation for 7. How's work life since you started your retail job?" Auntie asked as she took a sip of her water, "it's good I get paid this Thursday, after the second week of being a cashier, I've learned pretty quickly" I let out drinking some water as well.
