It's said that the old world we knew came crashing down 156 years ago.

In the wake of the destruction, countless lives were lost, cities across the country were wiped clean, and the entirety of our soil, along with anything on it withered away to dust. Now all that remains are the brittle ruins of collapsed towns and lives, a reminder of our past that continues to linger on even over a century later.

The unrelenting scent of old gunpowder and death never fails to remind us of our faults—and the haunting reality sits just beyond our walls. Walls built to keep the past out.

After the afflictive memories of the war were tucked away, society gathered and decided unanimously on a reason for the calamitous combat—our mindsets. In lieu of this, the last salvageable city, Seoul, was separated into 5 sectors.

Abnegation, the selfless. After the split, they assumed a quiet life,
one lived solely on the ideal of serving others.

Upon attaining membership, they are forced to reject a life of vanity and self-indulgence, protecting themselves
from greed and envy which are considered forms of selfishness.

The Abnegation faction was formed by those who blamed selfishness for human nature's flaws.
