Quick Thinking

" They cannot know who I am. "

-- Katsumi --

"Newbies!" Announced Haechan, his voice booming, all eyes turning to him, "We'll be starting with parkour practice. Is there anyone here that has no idea what I'm talking about?"

I let out a small chuckle as a couple of hands went up. Haechan took a count of the hands, eyes flicking around the crowd, a frustrated sigh slipping out of his lips, "We've got our work cut out for ourselves today, Renjun," he complained, turning to face him.

I turned my attention to the shorter male, our eyes meeting as a smirk appeared on his face, "Oh, I'm sure it'll be fine, you drama queen," he convinced, brow raised challengingly, "free entertainment, am I right?"

Challenge accepted, Renjun.

Haechan rolled his eyes before speaking again, "anyways, parkour is a mandatory physical training discipline you all have to learn. It requires you to be agile and quick on your feet."

"You have to traverse from place to place no matter what your surroundings are as Dauntless, and you'll be doing this without any assisting equipment," Renjun continued, gesturing to the course behind him"an example can be when you all jumped off the train. It's simple."

"Simple, really? Are you kidding?!" Somun interrupted, his tone filled with anger, "I thought that was just a one-time thing!"

Anzhi nudged my shoulder, signalling me to lean a bit closer to her, "for a former erudite, he really is stupid," she whispered in disbelief.

"I can see why he left. There was nothing in there, to begin with."

Anzhi let out a snicker, "you got that right. All he has is the self-entitlement."

A sly smile fell onto Haechan's features, "I see we have our first volunteer, Somun."

"What?! Since when? I didn't–"

Renjun glared at him, his tone stern as he cut his sentence short, "Up with it, blabbermouth. That's for talking out of turn."

I had to hold in a laugh as I watched Somun grow pale, his eyes filled with fear as he took in the elevated platforms. They weren't that tall, maybe around seven feet off the ground surrounded by others in varying height, but there was no soft landing. If he fell, it would for sure be an injury.

"There is equipment up there and anywhere in this area to use," Haechan continued, an amused expression adorned on his face, "those are free reign for traversing the platforms."

I couldn't hold in my laughter as Somun's eyes widened, his hands shaky beside him, the sound catching both mentors attention.

"Nakaya Tsumi, do we have a problem here?" Renjun mused, arms crossing in front of him.
