—Part 1.3—
Doubts

And you'll support me no matter what. Right?❞
—Katsumi—

"Thank you," I smiled at a plain-looking girl as she handed me simple grey robes. She gave a small smile in return, awkwardly fiddling with her hands. By the boring clothes she wore and her lack of questioning, I assumed she was a member of Abnegation. Lacklustre and bland throughout each bone, they must go under the radar, I thought.

Despite the gray clothes she wore, she was a very pretty girl, extremely pretty. Her features were very defined and overall beautiful, pale skin and a petite nose—topped off with two large, round eyes that stared into me innocently. If it weren't for Abnegation's awful clothing, I bet she would've been considered one of the prettiest girls in this damn city.

"..you can go now. You've helped me enough."

Abnegations..the biggest pushovers in existence.

"O-oh right, take care," she stammered, scratching the back of her head and turning away from me, beginning to walk to where the rest of her people were situated—still passing out endless amounts of bread.

I took that as my cue to head back home to the rest of the Factionless, a rather long route. Staying towards the sides of the buildings, I placed the new clothes into my bag along with the food she gave me. She must have been a pretty naive girl to willingly give them up; most of Abnegation would've politely declined, but she was different.

It was slightly stupid to not question me.

...

The walk towards the tranquil grounds of Amity was peaceful but lonely. Sure, I had friends, but they all hated the idea of going into the city without needing to. I was alone when it came to those things, nothing new. I sighed and pulled my hood over my head, deciding to take a small visit to the fields, just past the gardening area.

I had finally made it near the Amity fields and decided to take a look around the area, you never knew what people left lying out unattended. Trees lined the ground, fresh dirt patted along their protruding roots—and fruit hanging high up in their branches. There were many apples left out in the open, and there didn't seem to be anyone around, so I took my chance.

I grabbed as many as I could, and shoved them into my bag, emptying out the baskets scattered along the grass. It wasn't long until I was detected, but I was satisfied with everything I had managed to grab by then.

"Hey! Get away from there!"

I turned to where the voice was coming from and saw many of the Amity workers coming at me at full speed. With a satiated smirk, I quickly closed my bag, threw it over my shoulder, and ran.

Sprinting through the endless reeds of grass, I approached the distant tracks of the The L, our transit system. The familiar sound of the train began to grow louder indicating that it was going to pass by soon. Right on cue. I picked up my pace in order to reach the train on time, and looking over my shoulder, I saw that the workers were catching up to me.
