Chapter Fifteen:

Ambulance

The little girl turned to me, "What's your name?"

"Um... Gerard."

"Not quite as boring as Fun Ghoul's was, but I can fix that. Let's see, I'm going to call you..."

I looked down at my costume, it wasn't too bad, but still, "Circus Clown?"

"What's that?"

"Eh, nevermind. Go on."

She circled me, "Ah! I've got it! You're Party Poison!"

"Party Poison?"

"Yes. I knew you guys we're familiar. It was a great idea to name you after my dream," she continued to study Frank's and my costume more, "You look just like them."

"Them?" Frank and I asked at the same time.

"Yeah. The guys in my dreams. It's crazy how close these clothes are to theirs- practically perfect! Actually, I can't find anything wrong with them."

Frank looked over at me, this doesn't really seem like a dream anymore.

I know, but I don't know how it could not be one.

He shrugged. This all just fits too well, and both of us having the exact same dream?

Yeah, I know, odd.

"Are you going to stop the bad guys like in my dream too?"

Frank and I broke our mental conversation. "Stop the who?" I questioned.

"The bad guys that made me color in the lines? They're looking for you. I've seen posters around that look like you."

Frank was alarmed and put an arm around me, posters, of us?

"Why do they want us? Do you know?"

"I'm not sure, but you look like you fit in as much as me. Maybe you didn't color in the lines either."

"We're wanted, but how? We've never even seen this place before." Frank was becoming irritated with the confusion.

"There are ways to make people forget."

"So we don't know a thing about this life, because someone wanted us to forget and live in actual society in our own safe home, and we just get a little girl we found in a random, off-road diner to explain everything we can't remember or really never knew. How absolutely wonderful."

Frank squeezed my hand, "Hey, we've still got each other alright? We've already proved we aren't the same as them, whether we have been here before or not, and we can't be afraid. We have something to fight for now, our own lives and this little girl's. I know we never planned or wanted this life, but we're here now. It was thrust upon us, but the quicker we accept it, the quicker we can finish this."

Frank was taking this a lot better than I imagined, and he was right. "As long as we get to go home, in the end, and I get to drive."
