Over the course of the next couple days, Ming continuously intercepted the cellphone of the oblivious guard to text Eva. Eva was touched that Ming kept her updated, and she knew that Ming was doing this so that Eva wouldn't be worried.

"She texts you in prison? I'm not surprised," Maximus remarked when Eva related it to him. Eva nodded, a huge grin plastered on her face. Curious, she asked, "Does she ever text you too?"

Max shook his head, shocking Eva. "But, you're her second hand man!" Eva exclaimed, earning a low chuckle from Max.

"Miss Langston, I think you should know by now that you mean more to Ming than any of us. Ming would give up the whole of Bermuda for you."

Eva was stunned, and she shyly mumbled, "No way, she would never say that."

Max shrugged in nonchalance, "Well she did, right in front of my face."

Biting her lip, Eva could not help the silly smile that formed. Maximus noticed it and burst out laughing, "Oh love, you don't have to feel bad. I am not the least bit affected by it." With that, Eva cracked up as well.

An email notification came from Max's computer, and he bent over to read it. Smiling, he glanced at Eva and informed her, "My friend has replied, he will be landing in New York today to bust Ming out of prison."

"Wow, that is fast. Will she have to go to court?" Eva asked, earning a nod in response from Maximus.

"Yeah, and my guess is that you want to come see her in court?"

Eva nodded, surprised Maximus could read her so well. Max proceeded to instruct her, "Okay, I will send the information of the hearing to José, he will give you a ride there. I will go and fetch my friend."

Ming heard the keys jangling in the lock of her prison cell, and as she glanced up, a man in a brown suit followed the officer in. She exchanged a nod with the officer, whose name was Murray, and inspected the man who came along with him.

"Ming, this man stepped forward to represent you in court," Murray informed solemnly.

The man put his hand up in greeting, but Ming was not convinced. She did not know if this lawyer was a real lawyer sent by her gang, or a phony trying to get something out of her.

Clearing his throat, the man introduced himself, "Hello Ming, I am Liu. I was sent by Maximus to represent you in court."

The moment Max's name slipped from his lips, Ming relaxed. She extended her hand out for Liu to shake, grinning at him.

Murray cut their interaction short, ushering Liu out of the cell. Liu went, but he flicked his eyes back to Ming and scanned her in the prison's uniform. He stopped dead in his tracks, facing Officer Murray, he demanded, "She better be in a suit when I see her in court, your prison uniforms are revolting to look at, my client will not be seen in court wearing that."

Ming smirked, now absolutely certain that this lawyer was hired by Maximus.

As Ming tailed behind the officer to court, she kept her eyes to the ground. However, she noticed movement at the corner of her eye and glanced up, halting when she saw Max and Eva standing there.

Instantly, tears swelled up in Eva's eyes. She could not believe that Ming was right in front of her after not seeing Ming for more than a week. Ming ran over to Eva, engulfing Eva in the tightest hug she could muster.
