*Dan's POV*

Phil.

Phil.

Phil.

His name echoed in my brain for the moment of silence that followed. His voice was sweet, with a Northern accent that appealed to me in the best way possible.

"And you are?" Phil said, snapping me out of my trance. I cleared my throat, although I already knew he had seen me staring.

"I...I'm Dan." I smiled, and he smiled back. God, he was so adorable.

"Would you like me to...help you get back up?" Phil asked nervously. I then remembered that I was sitting on the floor of the forest after having been knocked down by the shock of bumping into Phil.

"That would be preferable, yes." I replied, smirking. Phil smiled a little bit back at me and offered his hand down to me. I took it, and with much difficulty, he pulled me back up to a standing position.

We gazed into each others' eyes for another moment. It was obvious that there was something different about Phil, but I couldn't place it. I couldn't...be in love with him. We'd just met. 

Maybe we weren't in love, but I liked him. There was no doubt.

I looked away. "Erm, Phil? I don't know where you're trying to go, but would you like to stay in my fort for a little while?"

Phil's face lit up. "Sure, I'd like that."

I led him back down the trail, over some fallen trees, and through patches of weeds and ivy until we reached the clearing. The sun had moved so the light just barely peeked through the leaves of the tree. It was gorgeous, and it seemed like Mother Nature had set up the fort like this to set the mood for Phil and I.

I wondered if she existed. 

I wonder if she knew.
