(Summary for the first chapter: The Riders learn a little bit more about Kai's life before becoming a ninja and Stoic gets a talk with his youngest)

Kai landed on Berk atop of Ultra and to the waiting of Hiccup and his father.

"Bro!" Kai jumps off and purposefully lands on Hiccup to get a big hug. Hiccup let's out a startled breath that increased when Tooth-less decided to join in on the hug pile purring. "Good to see you too Kai, my ribs, and most of my skeleton not so much," Hiccup jokes and Kai laughed getting off him. "Sorry bro, just got excited for a day of fun before I need to head back," Kai said laughing. Stoic laughs along with his son and patted his shoulder. "Yep, rest up boys, tomorrow you both are going to be my helpers in the preparations of Berk's Haddock celebration," Stoic said with a wide grin. "Anywho you boys get ready for your part of the event, I got to go yell at a couple of mischief makers some more," Stoic than turns around and without looking he yells.

"Ruff-nut! Tuff-nut! You put that food down," Stoic yells and ran to the table full of food where the twins were trying to take all the sweets. Kai looks to his twin and asks.

"Haddock celebration?" Kai asks confused. He hadn't exactly asked why his family wanted to suddenly hang out so urgently, but Sensei had given them the week off so Nya had gone on a trip to see Pixel in her new body and go shopping (with his credit card), Lloyd had gone off to spend a fishing trip with his dad, Zane had decided to revisit his dad's lighthouse, Jay had gone to his parents, and Cole had gone to see his father perform in some important fair. Honestly Kai was going to come visit anyway before they ended up calling him.

"It's this big fair that the village hosts in our families honour, they sing songs about our ancestors, recent battles we've done, basically it's to show the village's collective appreciation of us, but also for us to show our appreciation for them," Hiccup explains and Kai's confused. "How  do we show appreciation for the village? And do we do it separately or together?" Kai asks. "It kind of depends, but it's usually a display, I was think we could preform on our dragons," Hiccup suggests. Kai had lost interest and was now watching Ember playing with a group of children. Hiccup noticed and smiles over. "She's cute, can't believe how small she still is compared to her mother," Hiccup notes.

"Oh well that's because elemental dragons can live up to five hundred year give or take," Hiccup's eyes widened and he looks at Kai with a open mouth. "Of course though that's just the dragons that live in their environment, Ember's likely to live to be three hundred but might take a few extra centuries. Since they live so long she's gonna be a baby for a lot longer than your average dragon, or human even. Master Wu told me she's gonna be considered a baby for another ten years until her growth spurts start happening," Kai explains further. "So your okay with the idea your dragons gonna out live you?" Hiccup asks and Kai shrugs.

"She's harmless and it's just the way of life, really I just hope I'll be able to leave her with someone I can trust," Kai comments. "Well I know she's in good hands," Hiccup said and Kai smiles at his twin.

"Anyway back to this whole Haddock celebration. What exactly happens with us?" Kai asks. "Well we do stuff for the village, and they make songs about heroic stuff we've done," Hiccup explains. "But all my heroic stuff is in Ninjago, not to mention the only people in this village that know about my gift are you, dad, Gobber, and the riders," Kai lists. "Well maybe you could tell them about the stuff you've done," Hiccup suggests. "Nah, no offence Hiccup but I'm pretty sure you'd call me crazy if I told you about the stupid stuff I've done," Kai said. Hiccup remained disbelieving, he's faced plenty of stuff so what would he say that got him to be disbelieving?

"Like what?" Hiccup asks. "Well.....there is the skulkin," Kai said saying the first idea that came to his mind. "The skulkin? What type of tribe are they?" Hiccup asks interested. "They are nothing but a bunch of bone heads, they kidnapped Nya while I was still a blacksmith and they also use to worked for lord Garmadon. They've been nothing but a annoyance though without their leader," Kai explains.
