Daddy Issues

(This one is pretty short to be honest sorry)

The question had started simple enough. Kai and the ninja were visiting Dragon's Edge with the ninja in relaxing positions all around as Kai and Hiccup talked about events that were happening and catching up. Kai mentioned how Nya was taking him out on a sibling day for Father's Day.

"What's Father's Day?" Hiccup curiously asks. "Oh basically what it sounds like, it's a holiday dedicated to father's, there's also a Mother's Day, but that's a different day of the year. Some families have special traditions," Kai explains. "Me and Kai always spend the day together and I get him a special gift to feed his ever growing ego," Nya explains as Kai scoffs rolling his eyes fondly. "Then we finish the day by visiting our parents graves," Nya finishes. "I thought your parents disappeared?" Fish-legs asks. "They did the graves are empty. After awhile though eventually a funeral was held with empty coffins. It's been nearly more than a decade they're definitely dead," Kai said and Nya nods her head seemingly unbothered by the fact. Sure she'd have liked to have known who her parents had been. To be raised by them. The fact is though she was too young to even remember them. All she remembers is a warm and caring laugh and a soothing voice lulling her to sleep.

Deciding the atmosphere was taking a bad approach Hiccup changes the topic. "Let's not mention it to dad, I love him, but I think he'd take the thing too seriously," Hiccup comments. "Not to mention my dad and his ego," Snot-lout shivers at the thought nearby from where he was leaning on Hook-Fang. The dragon roars lightly in agreement. Even a dragon agrees Spite-lout should not know about a day where his father ship should be celebrated.

"So what do you all do for Father's Day?" Hiccup asks turning to the others curious about Ninjago traditions. Kai winces and makes a motion to stop talking frantically. "What? Do any of you have father day traditions?" Hiccup asks and Kai slaps his forehead. Hiccup was confused until realized why when Jay went on a tangent.

"My biological dad dumped me in a pile of garbage because my mom disappeared and he didn't want to deal with me even though he is the richest actor in the world, and then when I became famous he tried reuniting with me to get more famous. He told me I had disappeared with my mother and how he had been looking for me all that time. I fell for it until my real dad revealed to everyone exactly what Cliff did to me ruining the scum bags career. For Father's Day I spend it all with my real dad who I adore and love even if it's not biological because I love him not that scum bag jerk I have to put up with in my gene pool," Jay stated a proud look.

"And we also send glitter bombs to Cliff and glitter gets everywhere. Petty yes, but it feels so good," Nya said with a pleased grin.

Jay's ranting got Cole going too.

"My father isolated me, forced me to be something I did not want to be, ruined any hobby I liked except for sporting, and was too stuck in his own grief over mom's death he refused to acknowledge me. Then when I told him I didn't want to be anything like him he nearly disowned me. We've been working on our relationship, but I still get bitter about it sometimes," Cole said with a annoyed huff. Hiccup winces, that sounded pretty similar, nearly identical even, to his own experience with his dad.

Hiccup did not bother asking Nya knowing all about her relationship with her parents and how much she views Kai as her parent. So he skips to Zane. "What about you Zane? Do you even have a parent?" Hiccup asks. "Not a mother, but he did have a awesome inventor dad who built him. Dr Julien was my absolute hero inventor growing up," Jay answers. "Built him perfectly if you ask me," Kai said making a light blush form on Zane's face from the book he was reading.

"What was he like?" Hiccup asks. "My father was a good man, he was over protective though, he did not want me feeling grief, so when he passed he flipped a memory switch, making me forget about him, in fact I forgot I was even a robot," Hiccup found this hard to believe and looks at Kai who nodded to confirm it. "He looked really human before," He explains. "Felt human too. We were living with him for half a year before we found out and that was only because we found his blueprints," Cole explains. "That must have been freaky. To find out you weren't human," Astrid comments. "It was... a lot at once," Zane answers slowly after a moment to think.

"You should have seen Nya when we convinced him to casually take his head off! That was hilarious!" Jay laughs at the memory. "She had paused out for a entire hour," Kai can't help laughing too only to get hit in the head by his sister who glares at him. "What it was funny," He defends. "I nearly had a heart attack!" She hisses.

"To continue. I thought he was dead. Then found him alive locked up in a light house. Then he died again and now I honour him in the after life," Zane said.

The riders turned to Lloyd who crosses his arms and said. "I'm not talking about it," the riders were about to push when one look from all the ninja made them let it go.

So they turned to Wu. "My father was the First Spinjitzu master, creator of Ninjago and the one who chose the guardians of each element," he explains and then sips the tea he had.

The riders actually wanted information on Lloyd's dad since he was their brother but this was something else. "Wait don't you mean founder?" Fish-legs asks. "No creator," Wu answers. "Your father did not create a entire country," Hiccup said. "Believe what you think," Wu said.

The riders were now unsure and looked at the others who nodded. "Yeah, Wu's dad was basically a god,"

The riders think on this when it hit them like a lava blast.

They have a demigod in their clubhouse, two technically if the first spinjitzu master is Lloyd's grandfather.

The riders look at each other all silent as they process this information.

"Uncle Wu is joking guys," Lloyd said and laughs at them. The riders took a moment before they laughed feeling silly, of course he was joking. No way are they in the presence of two demigods. Sure they believe in magic now, but to have two demigods in their clubhouse was a lot.

Kai leans over and whispers. "Thanks for not breaking them," he said. "I thought they're brains would explode," Lloyd admits.

They might ease the riders into the idea if it gets brought up again, but for now they weren't gonna make their heads explode any time soon.
