Thankfully Maya was much quicker than anyone else when it came to what to do next.

"And that's why we're here! We wanted to talk to you about custody agreements since our son Kai found you again. I'm Maya by the way their mother," Maya said both simultaneously asserting herself as Kai's mother and also putting enough cheerful energy into her words to let Stoic know they were of no threat.

Yet Stoic just straight up growls at them. "My son's mother was named Valka and you are not my Valka," Stoic responds standing taller as a means to intimidate but that didn't work on Ray or Maya who have faced way worse than a tall man.

"Well times have changed haven't they? You aren't just limited to having two parents anymore. You can have three, four, however many you want," Maya said still keeping the same smile. Ray however was clenching his fists.

"Should we be worried someone's about to die?" Hiccup whispers. "I'm not sure," Kai answers and decides to step between them. "Hey everyone idea! Who wants to talk over lunch? Let's talk over lunch," Ray and Stoic were still glaring at each other, but Maya calms her husband down with ease.

Everyone moves on and Kai takes the chance to point out parts of the village. "And that's the forge where Hiccup made Tooth-less's tailfin!" Kai points out. "Oh are you a blacksmith Hiccup?" Ray asks happy to have something he could talk about with the boy.

"Uh yeah. I make most of my invention parts myself," Hiccup said a little awkwardly. "So am I! I used to forge all the weapons for the elemental alliance and the Ninjago armies during the first Serpentine war. Every weapon they had was made by me," Ray brags proudly than adds. "But your more of an inventor in the forge I assume?" He asks Hiccup.

Hiccup glances at Kai who urges him with his eyes to go along with it. "Yeah. I prefer to create something new all the time to challenge my skills," Hiccup answers.

"Your brother is just like you. When Kai was three he used to play pretend blacksmith like me and my old man," Ray said. "Oh it was adorable. He'd just watch Ray in the forge for hours," Maya agrees. "I taught him everything he knew. What about you? Did your father teach you how to smith?" Ray asks.

"No Gobber did," Hiccup answers. "Who?" Maya asks nicely. "My friend. Also I am Kai's "old man" not you," Stoic glares at Ray who only purses his lips. As a former master of fire one might think Ray had a short fuse, but he could be seen as a very patient and understanding man. Besides he wants best for his son who has already made his stance clear. Ray has no reason to feel self conscious about it like Stoic.

So instead he only smiles at Stoic. "Oh? I thought you were meant to be my son's biological father not his grandfather. Makes sense since you already have enough grey hair for it," Ray states.

On the other hand that doesn't mean Ray couldn't deliver burns in a different way.

Stoic moves to grab his sword, but Kai got between them. "Hey who wants to take a closer look at the forge? You do? Let's go!" Kai grabs Hiccup and Ray dragging them over towards the forge.

Conveniently Gobber was there banging the anvil with a peice of metal making something with Grump snoring in the corner.

He looks up at the new arrivals and smile. "Oh Kai well ain't this a nice surprise. Who's this fellow with you?" Gobber questions.

"Ray Smith, Kai and Nya's father," Ray introduces smiling with a bow at the waist.

Gobber looks Ray up and down. "Get out of my shop I don't want to clean the blood off my new weapons. Not a good look if they look second hand," Gobber said and then looks to Hiccup. "So Hiccup your alive! Sven and Spite-lout owe me ten pounds of scrap metal each!" Gobber laughs victoriously.
