A Dragons Journey

Hiccup was happy to have Kai visiting Berk for the week excited to catch up on their adventures with each other. Kai told Hiccup about the villains he's been fighting while Hiccup told him about the new land he had been exploring since Viggo became a no threat.

What Hiccup didn't appreciate was Kai's boyfriend's and Lloyd coming. The one he could deal with the most was Zane since the metal man was just silent most of the time and was more or less a presence. The others were more annoying. Jay and Cole were always either doing something or poking at his inventions or Lloyd just made a point to annoy Hiccup as much as possible since he was jealous of Hiccup. At least Nya wasn't there crashing the party.

Ultra dragon had dropped them all off and then look off back into the sky with a quick goodbye from each of the ninja. Watching the massive dragon fly away Hiccup asks Kai where they were going. "Ultra's going on her shedding migration. Elemental dragons going on special migrations when they feel they are about to grow bigger. She's gone on them loads before and she's always back within a few weeks," Kai explains.

"And you don't accompany her or witness it to study?" Fish-legs asks Kai shocked. "It is sacred and pure. To shed one form to gain another. We don't accompany them for it and merely wait until they choose to return," Zane explains.

"In other words there going somewhere we don't have to deal with dead dragon skin," Kai translates.

"Way to take the sacredness out of something Firefly," Cole deadpans.

"Hey Kai why don't you and me go sparring practice in the woods? Without certain company," Hiccup offers. Lloyd stuck his tongue out at him since that was directed at him.

Kai took him up on the offer and the two left to the woods. Hiccup and Kai then spent the day together catching up and even did a dragon race with Kai's spirit dragon.

"I literally control this dragon as part of my soul! How to heck did you beat me!?" Kai pouts. Hiccup laughs and pets a very smug Tooth-less.

"Experience brother. Plus a better dragon than yours," Hiccup said with a grin.

"Oh those are fighting words bro," Kai laughs and flies in front of Hiccup. "Race you!" Kai took off and Hiccup laughs following.

Hiccup beat him again and Kai was pouting about it at dinner which Zane had cooked. The Vikings all agreed Zane was the best cook ever something the ice ninja took pride in.

"Dude the metal man is amazing at this! We should get our own," Tuff exclaims reaching for another plate of yak ribs. "I do not appreciate being called a metal man," Zane said snatching the plate away to be petty. "And Zane's one of a kind. No replication could ever come close," Kai said as Zane smiles at him giving the plate to Kai to eat.

"I still don't get why I can't study his insides. It's not like," Fish-legs began to complain.

"Please Fish-Face. Finish that and you'll have five pissed off elemental masters," Snot-Lout said grinning very brightly.

Noticing the dangerous glares he was being sent Fish-legs shut up.

Kai feeds some food to Ember who roasts it a little bit more before eating. "How long until Ultra's back?" Hiccup questions.

"Hard to say. Last time it was almost a year before she came back," Jay answers. The riders all frown at this slightly. "And you weren't worried about her?" Astrid asks.

"We couldn't keep her behind with us. If we did than she would have gotten sick," Zane explains. "And besides an elemental dragon that bonds with an elemental master of the same element has a strong bond. It gets to the point we can feel their emotions and vice versa even from distances. It's strength depend on how close we are to them. Cole has the strongest one with Rocky," Lloyd explains gesturing to Cole who smiles proudly at that.
