The next morning we are up early getting ready. I showered first because it takes a while to fix all this hair that I have.
When Sof came out of the bathroom she had a shower cap on.
"You look like a grandma." I laughed.
"Hey! I didn't want to get my hair wet."
"I'm sorry that you can't go with us this morning but I know you have things to do at work."
"Pria it's crazy how many things I have to record and file away but I do like my job."
"I file too but I'm sure it's not the same but you don't hear people screaming and fighting over stuff as I do." I laugh.
There was a knock on the door and Sof answered it. "Good morning big brother."
"Did you guys sleep ok despite the scary movie?" He laughed.
"Yes, we did we snuggled." I laughed.
"Angie is finishing up getting ready so meet us downstairs whenever you're done." He said.
"Just got to put my dress on and we will be down," I said.
Once Dane closed the door I walked over and picked up my maxi dress off the bed. "I swear these are your best friend when you're pregnant."
"Don't tell me I don't want any kids Pria."
"Never?"
"I'm not sure but right now no. Holden doesn't either. What did you think of him the other night?"
"He seemed really nice and he's cute." I smiled.
"I know his smile melts me and makes me want to drop my panties for him." She giggles.
"Have you done that yet?"
"No, not yet but I'm hoping soon." She laughed as we opened the door and went downstairs.
"Let's roll!" Dane said clapping his hands together.
"See you guys this evening and hope you find out what the baby is," Sof said hugging me bye.
I decided to ride with Dane and Angie instead of driving myself. I was nervous but excited and I couldn't help but rub my stomach and say a little prayer that the baby cooperates.
We made it to the doctor's appointment and went in and I signed in. Dane sit between us and we were getting looks in every direction.
My phone beeped and I looked down and noticed it was Angie
📱 I'm going to put my hand on Dane's leg and I want you to do the same thing. Freak these nosey bitches out.
I giggled and looked over at her and when she placed her hand on Dane's left leg I placed my hand on his right leg.
Dane looked at both of us in shock because we didn't let him know what was going on.
I squeezed his leg and giggled. He raised an eyebrow at me before looking over at Angie.
"What is going on?" He asked confused.
"Pria Harlow?" The nurse called out.
"That's us lets go." I smiled
We followed the nurse back to a room and she asked a few questions before walking out closing the door.
"What was all of that out there?" Dane asked.
"It was for all of those nosey bitches who were staring at us. I texted Pria and told her to do it." Angie laughed.
Dane laughed. "I wasn't sure what was going on but a nice one."
Dr. Jessup walked in. "My favorite threesome."
Dane choked on his spit. "It's not like that doc."
"This I know! So Pria how are you doing?"
"I'm doing great. Being pregnant isn't as bad as I thought it would be."
"Just wait until it starts kicking." He laughed.
"Well that hasn't happened yet I guess."
"Let's take a look and see if we can tell the gender. Do you want to know or it be a surprise?"
"Surprise please," Angie said.
He squirted the gel on my belly and took some measurements and smiled. "Well, it's clear what this child is. I'll have it sealed in an envelope for you."
"Yay, we are excited to know what the baby is!" I said.
"This here is its head and hands and this here is its feet. Its little thumb is in its mouth as well."
"Aww!" Angie said wiping her eyes.
"Everything looks good! I want to see you back here in a month Pria."
"Will do Dr. Jessup. Thank you so much! We have a party to plan." I smiled.
Once we left we went to Angie's work to drop her off with the envelope. "No peeking Angie!" I said.
"I won't I promise. Dane, can you call or text your family and let them know about the party this evening at the house?"
"I can do that." He said.
"And if he doesn't I will." I smiled.
"Be careful guys! See you this evening." She said getting out of the car and I moved upfront.
We rode to work with no talking and when we parked Dane looked over at me. "Thanks again for everything Pria. You are making our dreams come true."
"What are friends for Dane?" I smiled getting out of the truck just as dad pulled up.
"Morning you two. How did the doctor appointment go?" He asked.
"We know the gender. Having a party this evening over at Dane's if you want to come, dad."
"Well since it's not your kid I think I may pass." He said.
"Oh well ok then," I said walking to my desk.
Dad seemed to be ok with me doing this but him not wanting to take part in the celebration hurt a little bit. I know it's not my kid but I'm doing this for his employee that is more like family.
Dane walked over... "Hey, don't let him spoil our happiness. He's probably got a date with the gold digger."
I rolled my eyes. "More than likely."
"I need a few files when you get time." He said.
"I'll be to your office in a few and grab your list." I smiled.
