Since that dream of my mom, I can't shake having a baby girl, and today we find out what we are having.
Dane is in court all day so Sof is going with me to get the results and then to the party store for poppers.
The doorbell rang and I walked down the steps and opened the door for Sof.
"I'm so glad you are going with me today Sof."
"I sure hope this baby cooperates and you find out what you're having Pria."
"You and me both. But I think I already know what it is." I said as we got in my car.
"How do you know?"
"I have been having these dreams of my mom Sof and they are so real and she's holding a baby in a pink blanket."
"Wow, then it has to mean something right?"
"I sure hope so. We both want a little girl." I said.
"Do you have any names yet Pria?"
"We do but swear you won't say anything," I said pulling up at the doctor's office.
'Bitch you are the only one that knows all of my secrets and well I wouldn't say a word." Sof said.
"If it's a boy he will be named after Dane but if it's a girl I want to name her Lauren after my mom."
"Oh, Pria I love it. Let's go find out." She said squeezing my hand.
We walked in and I signed in and we took a seat and it wasn't long until I was called back.
When Dr. Jessup walked in he smiled. "Hello Pria and who do you have here?"
"This is my sister-in-law and best friend since birth Sofia." I smiled.
"Nice to meet you Sofia. Now let's get a look at this baby and see if we can tell what the gender is. Do you want to know?"
"We do but in an envelope, please. We want to have a small surprise party." I said.
"Ok, we can do that. He said squirting on the gel.
"Well the baby is looking good and getting bigger and I can tell what the baby is." He said.
"Yay, we are so excited," Sof said.
"I will put the sonogram in the envelope and seal it so no peeking." He said wiping the gel off.
Sof took the envelope from me while I fixed my clothes and grabbed my bag and we walked out to make my next appointment.
Once in the car, we did a nervous dance. "Let's get to the party store and get some poppers," Sof said.
As we were going down the road Sof opened my sunroof and turned the radio up and smiled over at me.
We went to the party store and Sof handed the girl the envelope and then she sent out a group text and announced the reveal will happen tonight at 6 pm.
We picked out pink and blue things for the party and it didn't take the girl long to hand over two poppers.
"We are all set right?" Sof asked.
"Yup, I filled them up myself personally." The sales associate said.
We headed home and Sof did most of the work but we decorated the house and ordered up a bunch of pizzas and when Dane walked in the door he looked shocked.
He walked over and wrapped me in his arms and kissed me while undoing his tie.
"Your sister is here." I giggled.
"I figured she did all of the decorating. It's pretty obvious love." He said kissing me again.
"I'm going to go change. Mom is going to bring Kayden with her."
"I was about to ask where my baby was," I said following him upstairs.
"Are you ready to find out what we are having?" He asked.
"I know it's a girl already Dane and I'm ready to see the pink come out of the poppers."
"Why are you so sure that it's a girl love?"
"I keep having dreams of my mom and she's smiling holding a baby in a pink baby blanket and I just know it's a sign, Dane."
He pulled me into his arms. "Well if that's the case then Lauren will be in our arms soon."
"I'm trying not to get my hopes up but I just already know it's Lauren and mom is holding her until we get to," I said wiping a tear.
"Don't cry, love! This is a happy occasion and we get to find out what our precious baby is." He said putting his hands on my stomach.
"Let's head downstairs and get ready. I think I hear Kayden giggling." I smiled.
When we walked downstairs everyone was there but Aaron but it wasn't long until he showed up and we all headed to the patio.
"Let's do the poppers first and then eat because I can't eat when I just want to know." I laughed.
"I agree with you love."
Sof brought out the poppers and handed them to us.
"Just for the record I've been having dreams of my mom holding a baby in a pink blanket and so I know it's a girl."
"From your lips to god's ear," Kay said.
"Alright three, two, one!" Dane yelled and we popped them together and pink streamers came pouring down on the both of us.
I started screaming... "I knew it!"
"I'm so glad you are right and now Lauren is coming," Dane said in my ear.
"Can we know the name please?" Yvette asked.
"Alright, we are just going to give the first name because well we are working on the second name still," I said.
"Tell us Pria," Dad said.
"We decided her name will be Lauren." I choked out.
I looked over at my dad and he was wiping tears as he made his way over to me.
"Your mother would be proud of you sweetie and her name is so fitting for this precious little girl."
"Thanks, dad!" I smiled through tears and hugged him.
"I didn't want to be rude and ask who Lauren is but I get it now." Aaron laughed.
