Today is my 38 weeks appointment. I'm so miserable and ready for Lauren to come.
Dane was in court today so I am going alone but I don't mind. It's not like Dane can help missing.
The nurse called me back and helped me up on the bed. "Dr. Jessup will be in shortly."
I looked down at my phone and scrolled through Facebook waiting for the doctor.
The door opened and Dr. Jessup smiled. "Flying solo today?"
"Unfortunately I am because Dane is in court all day."
"Oh well, I think I would rather be here." He laughed.
"Just working in a law office with my husband and dad is crazy." I laughed.
"Oh, I bet so. Ok, let's check on baby girl. Have you been feeling ok?"
"Just tired really and my ankles are swelled but otherwise I'm good."
"I'm sure chasing a toddler around doesn't help either huh?"
"Oh no! Kayden is such a boy. He loves soccer and dirt and thankfully Dane keeps him busy and if not it's his Uncle Aaron." I laughed.
"Well it looks like baby girl is doing great and you have a little while left to go but don't be alarmed if she comes early since this is your second baby."
"I have everything ready to go even my bag for a just in case situation." I laughed.
"Here are your pictures. She's sucking her thumb." He smiled.
"Thank you so much, Dr. Jessup."
"Your welcome! Make an appointment and I'll see you next month."
"Ok see you then," I said as he helped me off of the table.
Once I got in the car Sof texted me.
📱 Do you feel up to meeting me at the bridal shop downtown?
📱 Sure I just got out of the doctor's office. Be there shortly.
📱 Yay! Cya then. Love you mean it!
📱 Love you too. mean it!
I throw my phone in my purse and put on my seat belt and drive to the bridal shop.
When I pull up Sof is already there. I get out of my car and waddle over to her.
"Hey, Sof!"
"Hey, Pria!" She said wrapping her arms around me.
"I'm glad I was already out. Are you wanting to find a dress today?"
"Of course! I mean mom gave me the money and I want to get an idea unless I find something then I'm getting it."
"Well, let's go see what they have," I said.
She linked her arm with mine as we walked into the Bridal shop.
"Good afternoon guys!" The lady said.
"Hi! I'm the soon-to-be bride and I need to find the perfect dress!" Sof said.
"And I'm not the groom." I laughed.
Sof laughed. "No, she's my sister-in-law but best friend since birth."
"How sweet! You guys look around and pick anything that you want to try on." She said.
"What color are you thinking for your matron of honor?" I asked.
"Umm, I'm thinking a light blue. What do you think?"
"I think that will be a beautiful color Sof." I smiled.
I had to go sit down and rest my back and feet while she went to try on a few dresses.
She came out in three different dresses and I liked each one in its own way.
"Which one Pria?"
"Gosh it's hard to decide but I think I like the one you have on right now the best. It shows off your figure nicely." I said.
Sof turned around in the mirror. "You know what your right. I love this one too. I'm saying yes to the dress!"
The sales lady clapped and then helped Sof take the dress off.
While she went to pay for the dress I continued to rest my feet until she came to get me and had to help me up.
Once out to the car I was about to get in when Sof stopped me. "Can you keep this for me so Holden won't see it?"
"Sure follow me home so you can carry it in and put it in the spare closet."
"Do you think we could make some macaroni salad? I'm craving some the way you make it." She laughed.
"Sure I can't say no to you but you're going to have to stop off at the store and get some ingredients that I don't have."
"Ok just send it to me in a text and I'll stop and get it and then I'll be over."
"Sounds good! Love you Sof!"
"Love you too!" I said shutting my door.
I made it home and went upstairs to change my clothes and pee and then went down to the couch to stretch out until Sof showed up.
About twenty minutes later she rang the doorbell. I got up and opened the door and she held up bags and her dress.
I took the grocery bags from her while she went and put the wedding dress in the spare room closet.
"I can't believe there is nothing in that closet I would have it packed with crap." She laughed.
"Well, my closet is so big upstairs that I don't need it yet." I laughed.
"Let me help you cut the stuff up." She said getting a knife.
We sit on the bar stools and cut everything that goes in the macaroni salad because I need off of my feet.
Once we had it done we boiled the noodles and by the time it was done we both needed some.
We were sitting at the table eating a bowl when Dane and Kayden come home.
"Mommy!" Kayden yelled.
"In the kitchen with Aunt Sof," I said.
He ran into the kitchen and hugged me before giving Sof one too.
"Are you eating?" He asked.
"Macaroni salad do you want some Kayden?" Sof asked.
"Yuck no!" He giggled just as Dane walked in loosening his tie.
"What is he yucking to?" He asked.
"Macaroni salad that your sister just had to have." I smiled.
