I sat there stunned that we kissed even though it was brief it was nice.
I haven't touched a woman or kissed anyone since the day that Angie passed.
I need to go find Pria and make sure she is ok before processing what is happening between us.
I walk into the kitchen and she wasn't there so I walked upstairs and looked in on Kayden and he was ok so I walked down the hall to her bedroom and knocked on the door.
"Pria can I come in?"
"I guess." She said from behind the door.
When I opened the door she was sitting on the end of her bed crying.
"Hey, what's wrong? Why are you crying?" I said sitting beside her.
"I'm sorry Dane. I should have never kissed you I don't know what I was thinking."
"Don't be sorry. First off it was a nice kiss and well no one has kissed me in a long time."
She just looked at me with tears in her eyes. I leaned over and wiped them with my thumb.
"I feel stupid and I don't want you to think I am only here to help with Kayden for other reasons."
"Pria I would never think that. Remember I've known you forever and I know your not a gold digger like Eliza."
"No, but I know you are still grieving and for the past couple of weeks I have felt a pull from you and it's caused me to look at you in a different light."
"How so?" I asked turning toward her.
"Umm I mean I always thought you were cute but I don't know I've noticed your body and the way you carry yourself and sometimes when you lick your lips. God, I'm horrible."
"Hey no, your not your human and we both have needs, and I for one know how much you sacrificed to have a baby for us, and well my hand only gets me so far." I laugh.
"Oh god, Dane! Don't put that in my head too. I already have to see you walking around in those grey sweatpants." She said.
"Grey sweatpants what?"
"I can see the imprint of your dick through them." She said dropping her head.
I fell back on the bed and laughed... "Oh well, I had no idea about those."
"Stop laughing at me." She said lightly smacking my stomach.
"So are we ok?" I asked.
"We are ok Dane as long as you don't hate me."
"I could never hate you Pria," I said sitting back up taking her hand in mind.
"Good but now it's all weird."
"No, it's not weird. What if I kissed you again would that be weird for you?"
"I'm not sure until you do it." She smirked.
I removed my hands from hers and placed them on both sides of her face and rubbed her cheeks with my thumbs.
"Are you sure?" I whispered.
"If you are. I would never disrespect Angie."
I continued to rub her cheeks. "I have come to realize that Angie isn't coming back and I have to continue on living," I said as my thumb moved across her bottom lip.
"Kiss me, Dane!" She said.
I leaned in and place my lips on hers. They were so soft and as our lips moved together she put her hands on mine that are still on her face.
As my tongue brushed against hers we deepened the kiss and things got sloppy. I held her body close to mine and I could feel her heart beating so fast.
When we broke apart we just looked at each other and I smiled over at her. "Why do I feel like I just had my first kiss again?"
"I'm not sure but I feel weird myself but a good kind of weird." She smiled.
I leaned my head against hers and pulled her into my arms. She wrapped her arms around me and we just held each other for a few minutes.
"I guess I should go check on Kayden and get ready for bed. Thanks again for my watch."
"Your more than welcome Pria and thank you for taking care of my son and me for that matter."
"I didn't intend for it to go this way when I first said yes but there is nowhere else I would rather be than right here with the both of you." She smiled.
I leaned in and gently kissed her lips again before I watched her walk out of her room.
What the hell is wrong with me? I feel excited for tomorrow instead of so sad and I would like to think that Angie would be ok with that too.
I passed by Kaydens room and I saw Pria leaning over the bed kissing the side of his face.
I couldn't help but smile as I walked downstairs to work a little bit more on my case for tomorrow.
I checked the door to make sure it was locked and the alarm was on before heading back to the barstool in the kitchen.
I looked over my notes and spent an hour going over what I would say tomorrow in court.
When I was finally done I cut the lights off and headed upstairs to my room. I stopped and check in on Kayden first before stopping by Pria's room and I saw she was asleep so I headed to my room and got ready for bed.
The next morning was so busy we really didn't have time to talk. I had to be up early to get to court and Pria was trying to pump before taking Kayden over to Mom's and we just said hi and bye in passing.
During lunchtime, I texted to see how things were and she said all was good. The office was quiet because Simon was also in court.
We didn't mention the kiss but at some point, we are going to have to decide if we want to explore what is going on between us or not.
