"The doctors said she passed out due to exhaustion. She should be up by morning." Natasha assured me. I nodded to show her I was listening but never took my gaze off Wanda who was peacefully sleeping on her bed. "You should get some sleep too. We don't need you going into another stress coma."

"I'll be fine." I told her and walked out of the room. I heard her let out a sigh followed by a soft click indicating she shut the door. I walked into Tony's lab to see him working on a new project and I just walked past him to my station.

"Hey, kid." Tony said as I walked past him. I gave a small wave and sat down. "Still worried about Wanda?"

I didn't answer.

"Come on, kid. Talk to me, it might make you feel better."

"If I wanted the whole 'let your feelings out' lecture I would have gone to Steve." I said simply.

"Fine." he said and put his mask back on before turning on his torch and going back to his work. It wasn't silent be it was peaceful, the sound of construction and loud noises always seemed to calm me. I guess it was a sense of knowing that someone was there.

Nights always seem to be endless but this one in particular was worse. The continuous worry about Wanda and blame for what happened to her. The pain of seeing my uncle again with old memories flooding back. The physical pain within my abdomen and thigh. And the familiarity of the person with the scarred face. Their fight patterns, their brown eyes, face shape. It confused me. It was all new to me.

When the morning finally came I walked into the kitchen to get a drink but to my surprise I wasn't alone.

"Wanda." I said with a bright smile which she returned. I ran up to her and hugged her tightly.

"Miss me much?" she laughed as she hugged back.

"Yeah." I whispered.

"I was only gone a week."

"That's too long."

"You're adorable."

I froze. Did-did she just call me adorable? I felt her tense up as well as we pulled apart.

"Well-"

"I'm sorry." I cut her off.

"Sorry? Why?"

"I didn't do anything to help you, when we crashed."

"No, y/n. That wasn't your fault." she said as she held my face in her hands. Her hands were soft and warm and sent a electric feeling through my body. I didn't believe her but hearing it from her made it a little better.

There was a silence between us as we stared at each other but there was this pounding in my head and soon a flood of memories.

"Y/n, we-we need to talk." Mattie said.

My heart sank. Those words were never good so I prepared myself for the worst.

"Okay." I said simply as I pulled my hands down from her face and to my sides.

"We've been together for about a year now and you know that I love you."

"Where are you going with this?" I asked as tears started to sting the back of my eyes.

"I should have told you a while ago and this is probably not the right time to-"

"Told me what?" The tears starting to fill my eyes unwantedly.

"I am so sorry, y/n. I am. I didn't-"

"Told me what, Mattie?" I asked sternly.

"It was late and I was drinking cause we had gotten into a fight and-"

"Who?" I asked already predicting her next words.

"No, y/n-"

"Who was it, Mattie?" I asked the tears now flowing down my face.

"Kaylee." she said sadly.

"What?" I asked as my heart stop. "A-as in..." I gulped. "Sa-Sarah's sister?"

"Y/n, I am so sorry. Please-"

"I-I can't do this right now." I said and backed away.

"Y/n-"

"I need to be alone." I said and started running.

I ran home as fast as I could with tears violently running down my face. When I arrived at me and my father's apartment, I swung open the door and paused as I saw my father sitting on the couch.

He stood up and opened his arms for me to run into. He didn't ask questions, he just comforted me until I was ready to talk.

As that memory ended, glimpses of recent memories began to play.

Memories of Wanda. Of her smile, of her laugh, her eyes, her nose scrunch, her body. Memories of us cuddling, of us playing games, of me teaching her how to cook, of her forcing me to stop working so I didn't have sleepless nights.

I let out a shaky breath as the memories ended. I closed my eyes and tried to catch my breath.

"How-how did you do that?" I asked as I opened my eyes to look at her. But she just stared at me, blushing furiously.

"I...don't know." she said simply. "I just wanted to know what your were thinking and..."

"And?" I asked.

"And..." she took a few steps closer to me so that we were only inches apart. "I'm sorry. I know you don't like people snooping through your head."

"It-it's fine." I stuttered as my stomach flipped. We were so close and all I wanted to do was grab her by the waist and kiss her.

"So, why don't you?" she smirked.

"What?"

Is she still in my head?

She kept the smirk on her face indicating she was still in fact listening to my thoughts. I felt a heat rise up to my ears and she giggled. Not even a second later I felt her hands on my hips as they pulled me into her. She connected our lips and I couldn't think.

Her lips were soft and moved in sync with mine as I kissed back. Sparks of electricity and energy filled my body. This was it. This was all I'd wanted to do for months but I still pulled away.

"What's wrong?"

"I can't." I said.

"Why not?" she asked and I could hear the sadness and disappointment in her voice which only broke me more.

"Because..." Once again tears were falling down my face. "Because I love you."

(I'm listening to a Wanda Maximoff playlist while I write this and I Kissed A Girl just started playing but this is supposed to be a sad scene 😭)

I hope you guys are enjoying this as much as I enjoy writing it.
