Luz p.o.v

"i can't believe Amity ignored me again!" i groan out as i put my towel around my shoulders. i was dressed back in my uniform and was hanging out in the boys locker room, waiting for my friends to finish getting ready. "i mean, come on! why can't i just get her to at least be nice to me!" i complain while throwing my hands in the air.

"she has a lot on her plate, i don't blame her." Willow remarked while putting on their usual combat boots that they wear almost no matter what. "her life is rough. although i've heard little about it from Boshca, what i have heard it's not the best for her."

"you're serious?" i question raising an eyebrow, fixing my beanie. they just nod their head.

"also didn't Boscha tell you not to go after Amity?" they bring up, looking up from their shoes. i advert away, while trying to play it off.

"what? me? nah, must be another person." i avoid. trying my best to be convincing.

"she told me earlier it was you. you should probably listen to her too, she has a track record of being right most of the time." Willow warns, standing up straight. i sigh and drop the act.

"i know but there is just something about her that is so attractive." i go to defend while sitting on one of the benches.

"oh, like not having interest in you?" Hunter mocks, putting on his shirt. i walk over to go punch his arm but he dodged me and ran around. i had to start chasing after him.

after that wild fiasco with me trying to hit Hunter, we all leave and i find Eda. she had her back to me. the grey haired lady looking over to the cheer team, who were putting away their things. i walk up next to Eda and scan my eyes over to the girls. i see none other than the pretty Amity Blight, putting some things away in her duffel bag. she pulls out a book and goes to a bench, sitting down and opening it.

"hey prissy Lilith! you're still a loser!" i hear Eda scream in a singsong voice next to me, making me jump. i snap my head towards her and look at her like she's crazy. i bring my head over to the cheer team and see all of them looking at us, even Amity.

i feel my face turn bright red and i hide behind Eda quickly. i hear muffled yelling back by the older lady's sister. she was most likely yelling insults at Eda. "Eda! what the fuck?" i whisper yelled to her, still right behind the taller lady. she snorts a laugh out in response, in turn making me feel really dumb.

"kid, you worry too much. she's my sister! i can say whatever i want to her." the older lady argued proudly. she turns to me and gives me a good pat on the shoulder. "now let's get home so we can make something to eat! i'm starving, and knowing King he probably will burn the house down if we don't."

i give her a nod and she starts to walk away. i glance back over to the cheer team and scan the girls. after a second my eyes fall over Amity, who was with a set of twins. she was talking to them like she knew them. next thing i know i look and see the smallest girls face drop, looking overly concerned. she then runs away from the twins and grabs her things, then going to Lilith.

"Luz!" i hear Eda yell, grabbing my attention. i look over to see the tall lady ten feet away from me. "you okay? you're looking out into the distance with your thinker face, it was concerning." she jokes in a nonchalant way. i nod my head and turn back to where i last saw Amity. instead of with Lilith i saw her walking with the twins out to the parking lot. i then pull back and walk to Eda.

we walk to the parking lot and i see Amity. i decided to run up and call her name, making her turn to me. "Luz, not right now. i have to go." the smaller girl tells me, going to turn back around.
