as i pull away from kissing the Blights forehead i look her back in the eyes. her eyes glowed against the dim street lights and the moon, showing the gold in her eyes. her features were breathtaking and her big eyes were fixated on mine. i have never wanted to kiss anyone more in my life.

my eyes flicker down to her lips and back to her eyes, almost asking for permission. i feel her lean in slowly,  going to her toes to reach my face. as start to do the same i hear Amity's phone ring, scaring both of us. we jump and pull away. i see her grab her phone from her pocket and look at the screen. she groans and shows me her phone, her sisters name adorning the screen. "i'm so sorry." she whispers as she answers the phone.

i could hear her sister on the end of the phone. "hey sis, i know you're probably having the time of your life right now with your little girlfriend but me and Ed got a text from mom saying her and dad will be home in a hour or two. she told me the party didn't go as planned. we should probably head back home so we can act like we're asleep."

"okay, i'll be there in a few minutes or so. i'll see you soon." Amity mentions as she pressed the button ending the call. she sighs as she puts her phone back in her pocket.

"needing to head home?" i ask as i reach for her hand, interlacing our fingers.

"yeah, i'm sorry." the Blight apologizes as she seemed a bit upset over the situation.

"it's okay. i get to see you tomorrow anyways." i reassure while i give her a smile. "i can walk you guys home if you would like."

"i would love that." she tells me, now lightly smiling.

we walk back to the park, where we see the twins back on the swings. Amity calls out to them and they turn simultaneously. i swear those two are robotic in a way. we wave over to them and they get off the swings, then walking over to us. Edric had my skateboard and handed it to me.

"are you going to walk us home?" Emira asked as she winks to me, then nudging me with her elbow.

"yeah, besides you guys are fun to be around." i smile to the twins, ignoring the gesture Amity's sister made.

"more like 'Amity is fun to be around'." she laughs and pats my back. i feel my face heat up as i clear my throat, trying to hide embarrassment.

"ugh, you guys are the worst." Amity complains with a completely red face, not looking near me. oh my god she's so cute.

after a bit more bickering between the two Blights we finally started walking towards their house, which surprisingly wasn't too far from the park. it was only about five minutes away at most and Amity let me hold her hand the whole way. she still had the hood on her head and walked close to me the whole time. once we got to their house, which was practically a mansion, it was finally time to say goodbye.

"okay, you two leave for a minute. i'll be inside in a second." Amity dismissed to the twins while waving her free hand, trying to shoo them away.

"okay, okay. just don't have too much fun out here. also be back inside before we turn on the security cameras." Em mentions while pointing to the house.

"will do." Amity simply mentions while giving a thumbs up. "five minutes max."

the twins walk away around the brick fence and we wait a second until we felt they were gone. i set down my skateboard and place it near my feet.

"so... turning on the security cameras?" i question as i raise an eyebrow. Amity's smiles to me as she lightly laughs, going to explain.

"the twins know how to deactivate the cameras and edit the footage so we can leave at times like this. our parents would kill us if they found out." she informs me while i piece everything together.
