Olga Andrea starts a new life sa bago niyang office, at inihatid ng bago niyang jowa pero kasing 'extra' pa rin ng dati. Akala niya magiging tahimik na ang buhay niya pero makikilala niya ang bago niyang boss, sasawsaw pa ang bagong assistant ng gwa...
Tatlong oras nawala si Sir Tristan, medyo na-guilty ako kasi sira ang schedule niya buong araw sa kagagahan ko. Ang dami nang naghahanap sa kanya sa office pero sabi ko na lang may meeting siya sa labas.
Ang tinde mo, Andi! Inutusan mo yung boss mong mag-spy para sa'yo. Luka luka ka nang gaga ka!
Eh siya naman nag-offer so I think hindi ko naman kasalanan talaga.
I prepare documents for him to sign at nag-ayos ng mga gamit sa office, kanina pa ako paikot-ikot para hindi ako kabahan.
Hay.
Ano kaya ang nakita niya doon sa office ni Chuck?
Nag-text sa akin si Chuck kaninang morning and lunch, alam ko nag-ttry siyang bumawi. Hindi na namin ulit pinag-usapan ang assistant niya.
Hindi nga ako affected kasi.
Plastik ang putsa.
Naglalapag ako ng documents sa table ni Sir nang bigla siyang dumating pero may kausap siya sa cellphone, so kahit na sobrang curious na ako sa sasabihin niya lumabas ako at sinara ang pinto ng office niya.
After all, nasa office pa rin kami at nakakahiya namang makinig sa usapan ng may usapan.
Umupo ako sa pwesto ko at nagbasa muna ng mga emails.
"Andi, please come to my office," sabi ni Sir sa intercom.
I stand up and go to his office, sinara ko ang pinto behind me and sit on his guest chair.
Tiningnan niya lang ako at parang naniningkit, "Are you ready?"
Bigla akong nag-panic, "Ewan ko Sir. Parang ready na hindi, hindi ko alam."
He smiles, "You're nervous?"
I give him a "hello?" look and say, "Syempre naman Sir."
He smiles and says, "Well, I'll just tell you what I think para mabawasan ang questions sa utak mo."
I nod and he starts, "Well I got there and Chuck was not expecting me so naturally, he was surprised. But I proceeded to his office and his assistant came in behind me asking me who I was – so she was doing her job."
Malamang kung ako 'yon nagwala na ako kung may nakalampas sa akin na bisita ng boss ko.
He continues, "Chuck told her it's okay but I introduced myself to her before I talked to Chuck, she's..."
He looks at me like it's going to hurt and I brace myself, "She's pretty and seems intelligent based on our short conversation."
Bakit? Ako rin naman ah.
He looks at me and smiles, "A lot like you."
Hindi ko napigilan na parang mag-pout, we both know she's better looking. Pucha, kahit masama sa loob ko alam ko naman ang totoo no.
He wags a finger, "Don't. Don't do that. She's got nothing on you, in my opinion."
Medyo kumalma ako and I smile, "Thanks Sir."
He goes on, "So, we talked a while and I introduced myself as Chuck's friend, Chuck waves her off and lets her know it's okay so she leaves. Chuck and I pretty much talk about his business after that."
That's it?
Siguro he reads that on my face so he says, "Then I ask him about his new assistant and where he's been hiding her. Of course I had to act like I was interested so he wouldn't be suspicious of me. It's a guy thing, don't worry."
I roll my eyes, he laughs.
"Anyway, he told me she was hired originally for a Marketing post but because he was missing out on so much work, she came in to help him sort it out."
Tama naman 'yon sa kinwento sa akin ni Chuck.
"So, he didn't request for an assistant or one who looks like her," he smiles.
Hindi pa ako nakuntento so I ask, "So tingin n'yo Sir hindi naman interesado ang boyfriend ko sa assistant niya?"
He looks at me and seriously asks, "Did you ever wonder why Chuck went here on your first day?"
I scoff, "Aside from the reason na gusto niya akong pag-tripan?"
He raises his eyebrows at me, "Chuck and I have been friends for a long time, we have business discussions but he's never done that before. I didn't confirm with him, but I'm pretty sure he just wanted to see how you'll react to working for me."
Hala siya!
Ano nagselos ang boyfriend ko kay Sir? Or at least natakot siya na baka magkagusto ako kay Sir Tristan?
Nagsalubong ang kilay ko, "Magkaibigan kayo 'di ba, Sir? You mean nag-isip rin siya na baka magkagusto ako sa inyo?"
It's super weird talking about this pero at least we're being honest.
He nods, "It's possible. I'm not saying it's a fact but it seems likely na he wanted to see how you will react to me."
Tapos bigla siyang natawa, "That sounded super conceited," parang kinilabutan siya dun sa sinabi niya natawa naman ako.
Then I sober up, "I get your point Sir. Sobrang thank you po sa pag-punta n'yo doon kahit na you didn't have to."
He nods, "For a friend."
Tumayo na ako at paalis na but he says, "Also, you did me a favor."
Tiningnan ko lang siya and he says, "You can put in my calendar now – I've got a date."
Halos lumuwa ang mata ko, "Hala! Talaga?"
Bigla akong tumayo at tumakbo palabas ng office niya, "Wait lang Sir ha, kunin ko lang calendar mo."
Dali dali akong bumalik sa office niya and exaggerated to stop at humingal, then I compose myself hold my pen and getting ready to write I say, "Kailan Sir and with who?"
He grins, "Tomorrow, seven PM please reserve us a table at Teppan, the Japanese resto..."
Sumingit ako, "I know that one Sir."
I smile at sinulat ko ang sinabi niya.
He says, "Great!"
I look at him and I say, "Pwede malaman Sir kung sino?"
He gives me a knowing smile and says, "Carla."
