Jamie's POV
My phone buzzes.
"Who the hell is texting me at this ungodly hour?" I complain and pick the device up to see the message.
Unknown: Hey it's Lance. I was wondering if you wanted to do anything today? It's Sunday so you may have family plans but never hurts to ask right?
I save his number then text back.
Me: What did you have in mind?
Lance: Some of my friends and I are going to a water park.
I stare at the phone before replying.
Me: Who's going?
Lance: Well there's Matthew, Jacob, Isaac, Jeremy, Angie, Sara... I believe that's all. So how about it?
Me: I'm only going if I can bring Nicole.
Lance: Then it's settled. Picking you up in two hours.
A create a new message to send to Nicole.
Me: You're coming to a water park with me. Your boyfriend will be there.
She texts saying she'll come over in a few. I look at Lance's messages with a frown. Matthew and Jacob? Angie? Why are they going? Matthew hates Lance and Angie doesn't even know him. Maybe I can ask her what's going on...
I get out of bed to get dressed in my bathing suit. I hold two different ones in each hand.
"I could go with the bikini although that shows a lot of skin. But this one with a skirt will make me look like a little girl." I compare. In the end, I choose the bikini top with some black swimming shorts.
"I'm here!" Nicole yells out. I hear her footsteps coming closer until she reaches my room. She's wearing a dark purple retro bathing suit with a white dress over it, brown flip flops, and her hair is pulled into a bun.
"Why aren't you wearing the bottoms?" She asks me after looking me over. I hold up the flimsy material. "Ahhh. Okay. Well get a shirt on while I make food. After, I need help putting sunscreen on my back."
"Get Jacob to do that." I tell her as she walks out.
"You're helping me!" She sticks her tongue out at me then goes to the kitchen. I laugh and pull a tie dye t-shirt on before going to help Nicole.
The burning smell of bread reached my nose. I started to run to the kitchen where Nicole was swatting the air with a rag. Black smoke was coming from the stove.
"What did you do?" I ask her and rush to turn the stove off. A blackened pancake was looking quite like a burnt meat patty.
"I was trying to make us pancakes but I got distracted and this happened." She moans miserably. I sigh, in good manner, and pull out the bagels.
"Toast these at level three. I'll clean this up." She takes the bag, only to mop over the toaster. I chuckle, take the pan, and scrub it until it was clean. We eat quickly then apply sunscreen before waiting for Lance to come.
"Hey Jamie?" Nicole asks.
"Hm?" I grunt.
"I'm kind of glad you haven't left me as well. I never thought Angie would do that to us." Oh crap, I forgot to tell her who's coming.
"Nicole-" The door bell rings and she jumps up to answer it.
"Seriously Jamie?" She barks at me. I walk to her and Angie waves at me.
"Hey Jamie." Nicole glares at her.
"Well great! Now that the squad is back, let's go to the car." I grab Nicole's arm and drag her to Lance's car. Matthew is sitting in the back, looking miserable. Angie slids in next to him and Nicole sits next to Jacob in the middle seats, leaving me next to Angie. I sigh then get in.
"Hey Jamie! Long time no see." Lance gives me a heartwarming smile. "I'm glad you and Nicole decided to come." He starts to drive.
Let me tell you one thing. The car ride was miserable.
Pop music was playing right in my ear, sounding like a shrieking banshee. Angie kept touching Matthew's thigh and Lance was trying to keep a conversation with me when I just wanted to sleep. When we finally got to the park, I felt as if I was suffocating. Thankfully, I was the first one out of the car. If I wasn't, I think I would have turned this water park into a blood park. Not to be violent or anything.
"Well, I guess we should all split up and go our own ways. Meet back at the car at five." Lance tells everyone and his other friends go off without saying bye. This leaves Jacob, Nicole, who was clutching Jacob's arm like it was life support, Lance, Angie, Matthew, and I. In my opinion, it was the worst group anyone could've asked for. If this were a two-on-two fighting game, it would probably go like this:
Matthew: You are no match for Nicole and I!
Lance: I was trying to save you from dying dude!
Nicole: You betrayed Jamie and I, Angie. For that, you shall perish!
Angie: I totally just thought you were boring. So bring it!
This thought made me smile. I noticed the group was ahead of me.
"Hurry up Nerd!" Matthew shouts and I jog after them.
I look at Matthew's annoyed face to Angie's high-and-mighty face to Nicole's I-will-destroy-you and finally to Lance's smug smirks.
"Let the games begin." I mutter with a sigh.

So I finally updated cx after years and years (okay like twenty days) but it's finally here! So I don't really have anything to say. Thanks everyone for putting up with my laziness.
