Asleep [Chapter 9]

(Raine's POV)

"I.." i kept on stuttering, everyone was looking at me confused.. I sighed slowly and got closer to everyone else, "Well.." i mumbled, "Well what?" Darius asked.. i was sweating, but.. then again if I told them his real age, he probably won't trust me ever again.. what do I do?!.. "Let's just say.. I've met him before, no like.. the actual him.. without the mask!" I shudder, everyone looks shocked, "What do you mean?!" Darius groaned, "i said what I said!" I puled, "You guys probably won't believe this but, he acts completely different behind that mask.." i began to mumble, everyone was having different opinions from their expressions, but I'm 100% sure they're all suprised in so many ways. We've got silent, "that still didn't answer my question by the 'for his age' " The illusionist says, i don't know what to do.. do I tell them? Do I keep it to myself?! Can i even trust them?.. "i.. he could be younger than you thought he was" i mumbled and feeling way guilty,, "just please, keep this conversation a secret guys.." i begged, they suprisingly nodded.. the frown and guilt from my face turned into suprised, I didn't think they would lisent but.. it's good to see that they do. "If you say so.. then, how about we just try to.. calm him down a bit?" The Plant Coven leader cheered, everyone agrees to do so, we got back to our places and stood silent for a moment.

I heard someone opening the door aggressively, then slam it shut,, there he is! The Golden Guard. I waved at him again, but this time he didn't reply with anything.. He sit back at his seat and looks for the papers he mistaken, he noticed that we were all looking at him, "What are you idiots looking at?" He groaned, the illusion coven leader sighed "Well, we've noticed that you've been kinda.. overworking yourself, so.. how about taking a little break Golden Guard?" He said.

(Hunter's POV)

Wha- how come they suddenly feel concerned about me? "I'm not dumb, you guys didn't care before and now suddenly you guys feel concerned!" I accused them and some of them started to frown, "You know, maybe a break isn't that bad?" Mx.Whispers confessed.. it was obvious, they're obviously planning something.. "are you guys trying to gain my trust so that I could do anything for you?" I scoffed and crossed my arm, "No, we're just trying to convince you that you shouldn't overwork yourself.. it's bad for you, you know that?" The Plant Coven leader exclaimed, "And I don't care! All I want is not to dissapoint Belo-.." before I contunied what I'm saying, i immediately stopped, but before I did I'm pretty sure they know what i'm trying to say. "I've spoken too much... sorry" i bawled and looked down to the papers, and erase the writings. Before i started writing, the Beast keeping coven leader goes in front of my desk, i looked up to the Coven leaders who literally looked desperate for me to take a break, the beast keeping coven leader then back off to their seat.. "i know it! You're just trying to convince me to take a break so that i won't finish these.." i shuddered, "i swear, we're not.. we all just wanted you to take a break from things, we know you're stressed Golden Boy" the Oracle coven leader say, "Do i have a choice..?" I looked back at them and sighed, i took my staff whos laying on the seat I'm sitting and teleport the paper works to my room. "That's what I'm talking about!" Darius politely said as he points at me, I groaned and put my head on the table, "It's suprisingly still 7 AM, so.. why not sleep while you're at it?" Raine chuckled and pets my shoulder, "But-" i stuttered and looked back up.. "we'll make sure to wake you up when the other coven leaders arrives! But for now you can take a rest" the illusion coven leader offered, i didn't know what to say.. they just sound so, welcoming and nice.. but obviously! I won't fall for such things, I just know they're planning something. They looked somehow happy tho, except for Darius I don't know what's his problem, but he didn't look mad.

After another moment of silence, i heard something chirping behind my coat.. why now?! "Did you guys hear that?" The Plant Coven leader yelped, then appeared a little cardinal out if my shoulder, "Why now?" I whispered, it looked at me and proceeded to flapped it's wings. "Awww... who's this little guy?" Mx.Whispers asked with a soft smile on their face, Rascal then flew to their shoulder and tweeted, "Aw.." The Plant Coven leader cheered.. I was a bit embarrassed, especially the fact that it came from my hood! "Why are you hiding that?" Darius asked again, "None of your business.." i mumbled. Rascal then went back to me, and hop on my hands.. well I didn't do anything but pets it's head softly, the Plant coven leader puts her hand on to her mouth with a happy look on her face.. "Okay, stop staring!" I groaned and puts Rascal on to my coat again, but it refuses to do so and instead it went on my head,"HEY- I'M KINDA WORKING HERE--" i shouted and starting to make shoo noises. I hear some of them giggling, it was embarrassing. "It's adorable, you don't need to hide the fact that you had a soft side, Golden Guard" The illusion coven leader giggled, i rolled my eyes but obviously they couldn't see it. But after a few minutes of Rascal getting in my head, it finally went down and got to my shoulder, then hiding on my hood,, "About time.." i mumbled. Everyone was looking at me in confusion, but they're smiling.. "What?" I shrugged, "Why are you hiding that cardinal?" One of the Coven leaders asked, "None of your business" i grumbled, for some what reason they didn't say anything.. they just stood, silent. Another awkward silence, great! "So now what? We're just gonna waste our time looking at eachother??" I complained, "Why are you so grumpy all the time?!" Darius asked, that made me groaned and looks away from them, again.. everyone was looking at me. "Fine, how about we talk about something else should we?" Darius crooned, well.. after that everyone was kinda telling stories and just a bit gossiping, i didn't want to be apart of it so instead i put my head on the table again. Ugh.. this is such a waste of time.

(3rd Person POV)

Everyone was gossiping about people around them, even about some of the other coven leaders, Raine only lisents to them.. but didn't said anything. It went like this for a few minutes, Coven leaders talking, Raine lisenting and Hunter being grumpy.

Another of minutes passed, but this time Raine heard someone snorting really quietly, they looked at the sound and seeing Hunter, laying his head on the desk and sleeping. Raine then poked the illusion coven leader and points at Hunter whos sleeping, "Oh wow, he fell asleep real fast" Darius grinned, then comes the Plant Coven leader giggling softly again, "i can't blame him, he's probably tired" Raine chuckled, the illusion coven leader then nodded, "Let's just let him rest.." Raine whispered loudly
