I was brought to large doors by the butterfly, and Jushiro and a brunette man was waiting for me.
"Did you do it?" Jushiro asked.
I grinned widely and held up Lunachi for his inspection. He smiled.
The brunette man whistled. "Looks like someone's got decent spiritual pressure."
I gazed at him curiously. "Um, I'm not trying to be rude... But..."
"Oh!" He laughed. He held out a hand and cast me a grin. "Shunsui Kyoraku."
"Ali," I smiled back, shaking his hand.
"Lets go," Jushiro said, growing serious. "It's time."
I sobered and nodded, but Shunsui just grinned easily as he and Jushiro pushed open the doors. We walked inside.
It was a huge arena, and all the captains were seated around it, save for Jushiro and Shunsui.
"Good luck," Shunsui said, patting my shoulder with an encouraging grin before shunpo-ing to his seat.
"Don't be nervous," Jushiro said. He set his hand on my head and smiled at me. "You can do this."
I was instantly at ease, and I nodded. "Yeah, thanks."
He pat my head before he went to his seat. Now I was left to center myself in the arena alone.
"Alice Heitsu," Yama-Sama said, his voice echoing. "Your strength it about to be evaluated by the captains of the Gotei 13. Are you prepared?"
I nodded and said "Yes, sir."
"First, you will fight a hollow," he said. I gulped, but nodded and held Lunachi out to the side.
The chain unwound itself before the long chain snaked around my arm and ended wrapped around my neck.
"Yes, sir!"
He tapped his staff to the ground and a gate opened.
"Raaaaaaawr!"
I cringed as the deafening rawr hit my eardrums. A hollow slithered its way into the arena. The body of a serpent, with six legs on each side and blood lust rolling off it in waves.
It shot at me like a rocket and my eyes widened.
"Woah!" I yelled, jumping on its head and running the length of it as it just kept going forward. As I jumped off the end of its tail, it's head slammed into an arena wall.
"You brat!" It roared angrily.
"Not my fault," I said, pointing upwards. "You're the one who attacked when I wasn't ready. So I just went with instinct."
"I'll kill you!" It yelled, shooting towards me. I blinked then jumped on its head again.
It once again hit its head on the wall as I jumped from its tail, and I put my free hand on my hip. "Huh... So you were stupid enough to do it again..." I said innocently, tilting my head.
"Why you!" It screamed, jumping at me so high that I was able to run under it, holding Lunachi upwards. It screamed in agony as Lunachi pierced its belly and I stepped to the side, causing the hollow to turn and land on its side.
No blood left the wound.
"Hey," I called to it. "Why ain't you bleeding?"
"Heh. Heh. Heh. Hehehee. Hahahahahahahaaaaaaaa!" It bellowed in laughter and I blinked.
"You are all different kinds of creepy," I informed. "Offense intended."
"Gotcha!" It yelled and a second version of it split from the wound.
I jumped back as the original stood by its copy.
"Well that's unfortunate," I sighed, scratching my head.
"Try and dodge now!" The hollows yelled, both shooting towards me.
I jumped up high, and they both kept going until they hit the wall. I couldn't help it, I started laughing.
"It's not funny!" They snapped.
"S-Sorry!" I laughed. I put my hand on my knees, struggling to calm down. "Just... Hehe... Gimme a minute."
I jumped again suddenly as one shot toward me, my expression nothing but seriousness. The second jumped at me as I fell towards the ground, unable to dodge. I scowled and glared at it.
My only option sucked.
I tried stabbing its mask, but the point slid and ended up in its spine. It cried out, but laughed as it hit the ground. And vuoala, three hollows. I sighed, my feet touching the ground. They all came at me, from my left, right, and back. I hopped forward and, as expected, they ran into each other.
Then, a tail whipped over and cut itself on Lunachi. Boom, four hollows.
"You did that on purpose!" I yelled, officially ticked. I huffed, crossing my arms. "We can't be friends anymore!"
"Fine with me!" The hollows laughed before striking again.
Suddenly, everything stopped and my vision blurred.
I was looking at the first hollow I've ever met as it bit me, then as it jumped away, screaming in pain, then disintegrated.
My vision blurred again and I jumped as I high as I could, grinning madly as the four ran into eachother.
"That's it!" I cheered. I put my hand on the sharp portion of the flat of my blade, over the single hole, then pressed my palm against it.
It cut me, and my blood was accepted into the small hole. It flowed through the blade, branching off as the red stood out from the white. My blood dripped from the pin sized holes as a hollow jumped up at me.
"Gotcha!" It yelled.
"No, I got you!" I grinned, putting my feet on its teeth to keep me from being hollow food. I ran as hands made wild grabs for me. I plunged Lunachi into its spine and tore it down its body as I ran towards the ground and other hollows.
It screeched, then exploded into nothingness. No sooner did my feet touch the ground did I rocket towards the closest hollow, who bit at me.
Chomp! Smash!
It's teeth snapped shut on where I was moments before, and I stood on its back seconds later, stabbing it.
Another screech.
Two down, two to go.
"Raaaaawr!" One roared, shooting at me. I smirked as I side stepped, Lunachi cutting it in half like butter.
One left.
"What are you?!" It yelled, backing up as I stepped closer. I grinned.
"What's it matter?"
It roared and lunged forward. I jumped up and twisted, chopping off its head.
"Well," I said, propping Lunachi on my shoulder. "That was fun."
