Ten days now. Ten days that I've been dead. Nothing much has changed.
I'm still cold.
I'm still sad.
I was still surrounded by the stench of death.
I was sitting over my chalk outline, as always, crying as my pain ripped my soul apart.
Then, cameras arrived. And a crowd gathered on one end of the alley. I wiped my eyes and got up to check it out. I floated towards it, stopping just in front of the barrier. They all were either staring at my alley or at some weirdo in a freaky get up.
"Ah, the stench of evil is strong here!" The freaky guy said, making me angry.
"I'm not evil...." I growled. He looked at me.
"Do not fear, Spirit, for I will set you free!" He waved around a staff.
"DON, DON, DON, DON!" The crowd chanted.
"Get away!" I yelled at him. "Don't come any closer!"
"There, there," he said, not heeding my warning. "I will purge the evil from you, my dear."
He jabbed at me with his staff, and an orange haired boy yelled at him to stop. I grabbed for the staff and was surprised when it stopped, stuck in my grasp.
"I said.... GO AWAY!"
Wind howled and pushed him back a good few meters. I took the staff and hit it against the ground, breaking it in two.
The orange haired boy jumped in between the man and my alley.
"Haven't you learned a thing?! Leave her alone or you'll only speed up the process, idiot!" He yelled.
"Ah! If it isn't my number one pupil!"
"Shut up!"
"Now, now, gentlemen," my father stepped towards them. He seemed paler, his cheeks shallow, his hair messy, as if he'd pulled at it. He looked like he was loosing it.
He must know I'll be after him if I can get out of here.
"We have to set aside our differences my poor daughter can find peace."
"SHUT UP, YOU BASTARD!" I screamed. The boy, some other kids his age, and the weird man looked at me.
"Perhaps some words from you shall set her at ease," the Don guy suggested.
"Oh yes," I said with a sickly sweet smile. "Come on daddy, lets hear it."
"M-Me?" Father stuttered. don nodded encouragingly and the orange haired boy stood expectantly to the side. Staring at me.
Could he see me like Don seemed to?
"A-Ali?" Father called. "I-I love you..."
"Liar!" I snarled
The wind picked up.
"I-I miss you..."
"LIAR!" I yelled.
Garbage flew around.
"I hate t-that this hap-ppened...."
"LIAR!" I screamed. "YOU KILLED ME! YOU DID THIS! IM DEAD BECAUSE OF YOU! IM IN PAIN BECAUSE OF YOU! ADMIT IT! ADMIT IT!"
The wind was howling now, and dad was trembling in terror.
"ADMIT IT!"
Garbage spun around him, keeping anyone who tried to help him away.
"ADMIT IT!"
"Stop!" The boy yelled at me.
"WHY SHOULD I?!" I snapped.
"He's going to have a heart attack!"
"GOOD!" I snarled. "HE DESERVES IT! ASK HIM! ASK HIM WHAT REALLY HAPPENED THE DAY I DIED!"
The wind quietened down enough. The boy looked at father. "Mr. Heitsu! What happened the day Alice died?!" He yelled.
"S-She ran away and jumped off the building!"
"LIAR!"
A trash can hit him, knocking him to the ground.
"Tell the truth and it'll stop!" Ichigo yelled. "If you don't, she'll kill you!"
"Okay, OKAY!" father screamed. "I KILLED HER! I PUSHED HER OFF THE BUILDING! SHE DIDN'T COMMIT SUICIDE! IT WAS ME! I ADMIT IT!"
The wind stopped, the trash fell, the crowd was quiet. I stood there, glaring at him.
"I Hope you rot in the deepest abyss of Hell," I growled. Then I retreated to my alley, satisfied to hear the police arrest my father.
Yet I was still dead.
I was still cold.
And I was still trapped.
