The final bell rang and Sam and Niall walked out of the school. It had been a short day at school and they were glad to be out. Sam and Niall were walking down the sidewalk and suddenly Sam saw someone who looked very familiar to her.

"Huh Dyl, what are you doing here?" Sam asked the boy. She walked over to the boy and Niall followed her. 'I came to surprise you. It had been so long since we'd seen each other.' Dylan said and the two hugged each other. "And what's the real reason you're here?" asked Sam, who was a little suspicious. "Come and sit on that bench over there and I'll tell you." Dylan replied. 'Can Niall hear it too? I actually agreed with him. Sam looked at him questioningly. Dylan nodded. "That's good."

"Listen, I came to see you because I'm moving." Started telling Dylan. 'Where to?' Sam immediately asked. She hoped it wasn't too far, because the distance between her and Dylan was already too much.

'New York. A family there would like to take me in.' Dylan replied, who obviously also regretted moving so far away. "M-But then maybe we'll never see each other again?" Sam began to realize that Dylan was going to live on the other side of the country and she bit her lip. Dylan nodded slowly.

Sam had tears in her eyes. Niall put an arm around Sam to comfort her. 'When are you going?' Sam asked the boy. 'Tomorrow already.' Dylan replied. "I just wanted to see you one more time and tell you myself." he continued. Then Sam gave her boyfriend a hug. "I'm going to miss you Dyl." She said. "Me you too Sam, if I'm ever in the area I'll stop by okay?" he said to the girl. 'The same goes for me.' Sam nodded.

'Take good care of my best friend, huh?' Dylan said to Niall. 'I will do.' Smiled Niall. Then Dylan stood up. He gave Sam one last hug and then they said goodbye. Dylan walked away towards the bus that was leaving in a few minutes.

"Let's go to my house then." Started Niall. "Then you can process everything first." He said. Sam nodded and Niall put an arm around her. Together they walked towards his house.

'What do you want to drink?' Niall asked Sam who was sitting quietly on the couch. "Have an ice tea." she replied. 'Is everything alright?' Niall asked, sitting next to Sam. "I'm happy for him." said Sam with a cautious smile. "I didn't expect him to ever find a family again, to be honest." told Sam.

Niall listened intently and nodded occasionally. 'But I'm going to miss him. He was always there for me at the orphanage.' said Sam. 'Do you have his phone number? You can always call or text him.' Thought Niall. 'Yes, luckily.' she replied. 'Happy.' Niall nodded.

"If you'll wait here, I'll grab some." Sam nodded and Niall ran upstairs. When he came back he had his guitar and started playing What Makes You Beautiful. "Wow Niall this is so good!" Sam responded enthusiastically when he was done. "Haha thanks, I thought it would cheer you up a bit" He smiled. "Thanks Ni." Sam gave the boy a hug.

"Shall we start working on the history project now?" Niall asked Sam. "Oh yes, of course." laughed Sam, who had almost forgotten why they were at Niall's house. She took her laptop out of her bag and started it up.

'Hey, finally done.' Niall said, checking his phone to see what time it was. "Sam, it's already 5:00 pm what time did you have to be home?" Niall asked the girl. "It didn't matter much as long as I sent a text when I went home." Sam replied. "Go home quickly or you'll be late for dinner." said Niall. Sam nodded and she picked up her phone. She quickly texted Josh.

Hey Josh! I'm coming home now, can you wait a little longer with dinner? ;)

Fortunately, he quickly answered:

That's good, Sam see you soon!

'See you tomorrow.' Niall said to Sam and they gave each other another hug. 'See you tomorrow.' Sam said to Niall who was standing in the doorway to say goodbye to Sam. Then they said goodbye and Sam walked home.
