PIPER WOKE UP    on October 1st, year 2020. Her dark eyes shined after seeing the date on the lock screen of her phone. October, spooky season, Halloween. Her favorite month and season of the year. Being finally able to wear the most comfiest clothes ever without being judged, because well, everyone was doing the same.

She got up from the bed with a smile that made the room shine. Turning on the max volume on her phone with the Halloween playlist that she played every year, she never got tired of it, and she liked all the songs there, the ambient they created made Piper feel right in the spooky mood, also she knew all the lyrics to every single one of the songs in the playlist.

As Piper walked to the bathroom, she picked an outfit that included a small pumpkin necklace she'd wear the whole month. She showered while vibing to "Devil Town" by Cavetown, one of her favorite songs. After getting out of the shower, she went downstairs to see her little sister Lisa and her older brother Peter, sitting in the breakfast counter while eating the breakfast their mom left before leaving to work.

The smile on Piper's face never faded, she was always festive about halloween and her parents have the blame for that. Peter and Lisa were really alike to Piper if we're talking about festive terms. They'd always dress up and go trick or treating and have candy for a week straight. In fact, the three of them were wearing something related to halloween that morning, Piper the necklace, Lisa spider earrings and Peter a skull pin on his jacket.

Peter was the oldest, he always took care of his sisters when his parents weren't home, they worked really hard to give them a good life. He was already 19, asexual and studying photography art in college. Lisa was just 14, the youngest of the house, and therefore the favorite, but pretty much that didn't matter, the Shay parents were different most of the time and they tried to give everything equally for each of their kids. Piper is the middle kid. 17 years ago she was born at the date of October 7th, maybe that's a reason why Spooky Month is her favorite as well.

After finishing their breakfast, the three of them went to brush their teeth, leaving for school after that was really easy. Piper grabbed her bag and waited for Lisa to get ready. Peter would drop the sisters off in the school before going to college every day. 

Lisa made her way into her class as her sister separated from her walking to the high school's locker hall to meet her best friend as usual, Raven.
