Claire and Veronica

"Oh Claire," Veronica whispers with a shaky breath, staring down at Ashton's naked lifeless body, instantly noticing the four puncture wounds on his neck, "What have you done?"

"We have to get him out of here," Claire panics, grabbing Veronica's arm.

"They're not going to let a Fledging walk out of here!" Veronica whisper yells at her.

"What are we going to do, he can't die," Claire hyperventilates.

"HIM? What about YOU?" Veronica grabs her, "What am I going to do without you, huh?"

"This is my fault, I deserve my punishment," she looks at Ashton, "But not him."

"They're all out of the spaghetti," Calum calls as he comes into their room, Veronica pissed she stopped listening for his return, too worked up over the situation. Calum notices the open door and peers in, his eyes landing on Ashton and all the color drains from his face as he runs in, "ASHTON!"

He screams out for his friend again as he shakes Ashton's limp body before he is thrown into the wall, Veronica pinning him the best she can while she tries to cover his mouth, "Calum, he's okay!"

"He's not dead," Claire joins them, resting her hand on Calum's cheek to soothe him. "I'm so sorry. This is all my fault. But he's not dead, Calum."

"You Kissed him?" he pushes Veronica away and charges at Claire before he stops, running his fingers through his hair as he breaks down, "He trusted you!"

Calum falls to his knees, hugging his chest as he weeps openly, the imminent death of his best friend crushing him. Veronica rushes to his side, swallowing as she stares at him, unsure of what to do. Comforting is out of her realm, but she hurts as she feels his pain, his emotions controlling the air. She wraps her arms around him and rests her head on his shaking back, deciding she will do anything to save Ashton for Calum's sake alone.

Claire joins them, crying too as she promises, "We're going to save him."
