Calum's body shakes as he begins to weep, gently laying Veronica to the ground and kissing her cheek. His eyes spill over as he crawls to his friends, sobbing over their best friends body, still face down in the grass while Luke lays Claire to her back. Calum grabs Ashton's shoulder, still warm, before resting his forehead next to his hand.
Calum's tears drip onto Ashton's cheek before his body jerks with a gasp, sending Calum off of him in a fright. Ashton flops to his back as he takes in a deep breath and pants. He looks around confused, noticing his three best friends faces hovering above him in shock.
Calum's eyes dart to Veronica before she does the same, gasping for air. Ashton sits up and stares at her before he looks around for Claire, finding her body next to his. He jumps to her and grabs her hand, willing her to come back, too. They all watch, waiting in agony before her eyes fly open and she pants for air.
"Ashton!" Claire sobs, wrapping her arms around him as Veronica makes it to Calum, letting him embrace her.
"We thought you guys were dead," Calum chokes, his lungs still controlled by his emotions.
"I thought I was," Ashton says, turning to Calum and placing his hand on his shoulder.
Calum smiles at Ashton, tears filling his eyes before Ashton grins back, so grateful for his best friend. "Whoa!" Calum exclaims, "Your teeth are gone."
"What!" Ashton's eyes goes wide as he feels his teeth, finding them all there, but no longer long and pointed.
Claire climbs in front of Ashton and grabs his face, looking at him, "You're human again."
"Oh my god," Michael shakes his head in amazement before he and Luke look out into the tall grass to watch for movement.
"Lets go check," Luke says, grabbing his sword and standing up.
"It worked," Calum huffs as they all look at each other.
"It worked," Claire laughs as she looks at Ashton, their eyes connecting.
He stares into them, smiling before he notices something different and grabs her face, "Your ring. Its gone."
"What?" she asks perplexed.
"So is yours," Calum says to Veronica, tilting her head to the moon.
"We're no longer Sired," Veronica whispers.
"What does that mean?" Calum asks her.
"I don't know," she replies as all four them look at each other dazed over their new future.
