Heartland- Trouble

Chapter 20

" Dad, it's just not fair how I got put in this position. It's not fair how G.G is treating me. It's not fair how I have to go through court. So I think I am just going to lay here. I mean what's the point?" Lyndy said still looking up at the sky

Those words broke Ty's heart. 💔

" Lyndy, it isn't fair. It really isn't. But you can't run off from your problems. You do need to get up though. I don't want you to freeze." Ty said

" Don't you run away from your problems?" Lyndy said getting up

Ty stood there speechless.

" Lyndy honey, I did at one point in my life. But not anymore. I don't have anything to run away from." Ty said holding his hand out to Lyndy.

Lyndy grabbed his hand and he pulled her up.
They look around and everything is covered in snow.

" Dad how are we going to get back home?" Lyndy asked

" Well, the snow isn't that deep so let's ride back but if it starts to get worse then we will stop." Ty said

Back at the Ranch House**

" Dad! We have to go look for them. The snow is starting to get really bad." Amy said

" Amy, we can't go look for them. The snow is too deep." Tim said

All of a sudden the door bursted open.

A couple of seconds later Ty and Lyndy come walking around the corner.

" Ty! Lyndy! We were worried sick. Where were you?" Amy and Lou said

" Well, I will explain later." Ty said

" Well, I am going to go take a nap, and change." Lyndy said

Lyndy walked off and Ty turned to Jack.

" Why would you say that to Lyndy? Your granddaughter? You're not her parent. Me and Amy are." Ty said

" Ty what are you talking about?" Said Amy

" Jack talked to Lyndy, I don't know what he said. But it was something to make her ride off on a horse in a middle of a snowstorm." Ty said

" Grandpa? Why?" Amy asked

Jack just looked out the Window.

" Grandpa?" Amy said

" I said it because I don't want her going down the wrong path." Jack said

" Grandpa, what are you talking about? She got her life fixed. She was at rehab for a little while." Amy said totally shocked

" I know. I just can't bare to see her go down that path again. It was hard Amy. It was hard not seeing you guys for a long time. Ty leaving. I don't want this family to fall apart again." Jack said starting to get emotional

Amy went and hugged Jack.

" Grandpa, everything is going to be ok." Amy said

" I know. I know." Jack said soft crying

Over the next couple of weeks Lyndy started to fight for full custody of Kyler.

Lyndy was sitting on the couch and Jack walked in.

" Lyndy, it's from the court." Jack said
