I turned into the Dauntless cafeteria, holding my plate of mashed potatoes and a burger. I swallowed and stood firm to where I was, unsure of where to sit.

The Dauntless transfers were fooling around with their food and being way too loud, while I saw a group of new guys who looked nice, but I immediately changed my mind when I saw Four sitting next to them. Tables and tables were filled with Dauntless men and women. And I had no where to sit.

I soon saw a table in the corner, empty and lonely. I started walking over there, but my shoulder hit someone, causing me to almost trip and loose my food.

"I'm so sorry!" I exclaimed as I turned to see who I bumped.

It was a young man, dark brown hair, chiseled face, and an interesting nose. Yet, overall he was quite attractive.

"Just watch where you're going next time," the guy said. He didn't say it in a angry voice, but an understanding one.

I nodded and started to walk away, but he said loudly,"Hey!"

I turned around to see him motioning his head towards his table. "You wanna come and sit with us?"

I bit my lip and remarked, "Sure."

"What's your name?" he asked as soon as we sat down.

"Erika."

"Cool, I'm Peter."

Weeks had past and Peter had become a best friend to me. We were always together, unsepertable. I had started to create feelings for him, and honestly I think he had too. The way he looked at me when he did something funny, or when he accomplished a successful fight. The spark in his eyes lit me up like a fire.

It was the day of the simulation tests. Peter had just finished his and it was my turn. I walked through the gigantic room and sat on the leaning chair. They injected me with the simulation and I blacked out, having all of my fears presented to me.

Later

I gasped for breath as I woke from my five minute nightmare. I was still in the same room and I slowly  turned to me side, hoping Peter was right there. But he wasn't.

I hesitantly sat up and looked for Peter. Stepping off of the seat, I searched for him desperately. And soon my despair ended into pain.

I saw Peter leaning too close to a blonde girl, almost as if he was flirting. She was pressed against a wall, and he was leaning his hand on the wall. Then, they kissed.

Jealousy and hurt ripped through me as I dashed out of the room, not wanting to look anymore. I ran through a hallway and entered the Pit. I took quick deep breaths as I sat on the edge. My stomach felt sick and my lungs gasped for air, but I couldn't breath. Tears started coming and my hands reached my face, wiping them away.

"Erika?" I heard a voice ask.

I turned my head to see Peter. He stood there with a worried look on his face. He immediately sat next to me and questioned again, "Erika, what's wrong?"

Peter looked so hot with his black v neck shirt on. His biceps flexed as he sat in a leaning position, elbows on knees hands together. His head was turned at me and some of the sunlight, peeking out from the Pit, was reflecting on him.

"Nothing's wrong. I better get going," I said and stood up, while he did the same.

"Erika, you can tell me. You know that right?" he stated, looking at me with his soft dark brown eyes.

I couldn't stand it anymore. I clasped his face and brought it towards mine, making our lips connect. Love and hate swirled in my mind and body. I hated him for kissing that girl, let I loved him so much for who he was. And kissing him felt so right, which made the hate wash away. Only leaving my love for him.

His hands were on my waist and he brought me closer to his body. For a few moments we were kissing and the next we parted. Peter's hand stroked my brunette hair and said, "Erika, honestly, I think I'm in love with you."

"I feel the same way, Peter," I remarked, staring into his eyes.

And again, our lips immediately found each other.
