Chapter 13: The Flames

(Zack's Pov)

I ran over to Zoey and Trinity. Trinity was passed out in Zoey's arms. The flames that covered Trinity moments ago were now gone.

"What was that. The flames I mean." I asked Zoey.

"They were a sign of her power. Her power has been unlocked, but shes still 15 so i dont know why they surfaced.'' Zoey sounded worried.

"You dont have anything to be worried about. Calm down its fine."

"No its not!!" I was shocked at her outburst.

"Why not? Trinity's fine isn't she?"

''No, well i dont know. Her powers surfaced too soon. Theres a reason a half demons powers don't surface until they are 16. When a half demon would gain their powers too soon their body would shut down slowly. When they gain their powers its hard for them to control them until their boby gets use to it. This could takes hours, days or even weeks. You also dont know what your powers are and theres no way to find out before you gain them and use them. Even when your powers surface you aren't sure what they are until they are used. Since Trinity's powers have surfaced so soon, she can die from it easily since her body is no where near ready."

Well thats sure a lot to take in at once. Ive barely know Trinity, but i feel like I've know her for ages.

''Wait how do you know all this?!"

"It was in my witch studies... Oh yeah i forgot i didn't tell you i am a witch. My mom was a witch and i inherited my powers from her. She left behind a lot of books about all kinds of stuff including demons and half demons. She gave these to my father to give to me once i turned 10. Yes 10 thats when a witch begins their studies, but doesnt gain the ability to cast spells until they themselves unlock their powers. No matter how many books i read they didn't say how a witch unlocks their powers, so im powerless right now. Well i wouldn't say that. I have a few cool abilities i can do right now. I can see people auras thats cool."

"So your a witch??" I looked at her trying to understand everything she said, trying..

''Yeah a witch... Anyhow we need to get Trinity back before all the demons in this world come searching for her. Now that her powers are released her scent will be wondering around waiting for some unwelcome demon to sniffs it and come running her direction."

"Right!" I pick up Trinity in my arms and start running in the diretion of the portal we came in this world from.

"Also since half of our blood is from this world, are powers and physical abilities are also increased so i can run faster to keep up with Trinity." She said behind me with a huge smile on her face. I laughed and looked ahead of me while running.

We passed through the village and received some unwelcome stares. We got to the forest on the opposite side of the village. We finally got to the spot where the portal had been when we came out of it.

"It isn't here." Zoey said.

"How do you know!?"

"Im a witch i just know ok?"

''What are we going to do then?"

''We go to the village and ask people for a place to stay for tonight and get going in the morning. We cant stay in one place for too long or they will find us."

"You seen how the villagers looked at us. They won't help us."

"There has to be someone with a kind heart to help us." Zoey laughed and didn't wait for my reply. She started running toward the village. I just sat there for a moment trying to think of something else, but came up with nothing, so i ran to Zoey. Zoey was talking to this man who looked kind of old. He had silver hair and looked like he was in the sun a lot. He was wearing worn down clothes and a large straw hat blocking the sun from his face. He was old, but he still looked mean, and that look on his face while talking to Zoey didn't help how mean he looked.
