(Zack's POV)
I cant believe that this has happened. Zoey cant die. She just cant. Trinity needs her. Without Zoey she doesn't have an anchor. Without Zoey Trinity is going to stay like how she is now. I mean she just killed Tyler, the only person we know for sure can go back and forth between worlds whenever he wants. Its like she doesn't care anymore. Heck she probably doesn't care.
I walked up beside Trinity. Her face had no emotion. I couldn't tell what she was feeling if my life depended on it. I looked at Zoey in her arms and was kinda shocked. I looked at Trinity when she finally said something.
"Her soul is still attached to her physical body. Her magic is fighting the sacrifice she gave. That's why she looks like that..." Trinity still didn't seem to the least bit excited at this good news she told me. If her magic is fighting the sacrifice then she might survive, so what is she not telling me?
"Trinity, everything's going to be fine. I promise." I put my hand on her shoulder. She kept walking without giving me a single glance.
I walked beside Trinity for hours not leaving her side. We all walked in silence waiting for something to happen. Something is always happening. Its like we never get a break. Not until we get back home. When we get hoe there's still no guarantee that everything is going to go back to normal. To be honest I believe were never going to live a normal life as long as demons and creatures can travel between worlds. I looked down at Zoey, she wasn't breathing but she still only looked like she was just sleeping. Her color hadn't faded at all since it actually happened. Every once and a while she will open her eyes, but when she does there pitch black.
Scarlet walked up right behind me.
"Hey so what did Trinity tell you about Zoey?" She whispered to me.
"She said her magic is fighting the sacrifice, but I don't think she is telling me everything." I whispered back.
"That's because if a witch were to make a sacrifice for the right reason then there magic tries to fight the sacrifice since it was a good sacrifice, but when something like this happens it rare for the witch to survive"
"How rare?"
"One out of a million." My mind didn't seem to want to process this information. I don't want to believe Zoey has that low of a chance of survival when all she did was save her best friends life. Tyler came in the cell with the intentions to kill Trinity right there and then, and he wasn't go to stop just because of my outburst. The only reason they began to leave is because even I could hear Trinity's heart beat start to stop. I even knew she was about to die.
"If it does work, when would she wake up?" I asked.
"By my calculations, midnight to night."
"Midnight is about 6 hours away." Scarlet smiled and as soon as her smile appeared is vanished. She fell back behind with Rose and I looked at Trinity.
"Hey Trinity lets stop here and rest for a while." She still didn't look at me. She didn't even move her head to respond to me.
"Ok lets stop here and rest for a while." I grabbed her shoulders lightly and lead her to a tree and sat her down in the shade. I picked up Zoey after she almost punching me in the face for doing so. I reassured her that is was alright and set Zoey beside Trinity leaning on the tree. I walked up to Scarlet and Rose.
"Hey you guys keep her company. I have to go do something."
"Ok." Rose said and walked over to Trinity and sat beside her.
"What are you planning on doing?" Scarlet asked me.
"Lets just say I found something out that I can do while we were walking in silence. Ok? OK. Now stay here." She sighed and nodded.
