Glad You Came

It had been a long two weeks for JJ.

She'd watched a lot of television, and was close to catching Emily up on Grey's Anatomy now.

She'd also attempted a lot of new dishes from cooking shows, but she still wasn't very good at it, so had also had a lot of takeaways.

Her apartment was tidier than it had been in years, and she'd also done a lot of sleeping.

Out of the 14 days, 8 of them the team had been out of state on cases. Those were the worst days. The other 6, at least she had some visitors, something to look forward to in the evening.

But finally, finally she was returning to work.

Emily had offered to drive her to work, as JJ's car was in the garage, and by the time she arrived at 8:15 JJ was more than ready for her.

"Good morning, good morning." JJ said, pulling herself into the car.

"Someone's cheerful." Emily remarked with a smile, starting to drive.

"I'm finally out of here." Grinned JJ.

"Jeez Jayje, you were resting, not on house arrest." Laughed Emily.

"I basically was. I have no car, and not much of a life outside you lot." JJ complained, pouting.

Emily chuckled. "Poor JJ, no friends."

"I have friends."

"Oh yeah? Outside the BAU?"

Pause.

"Oh shut up Emily it's not like you do either."

"More than you."

"Bull."

"Darling I only need to have one to have more than you. And I'm friends with the coffeehouse guy so there." Emily said triumphantly.

"Only cause he provides for your addiction."

"It is not an addiction!" Emily protested.

"Sure it's not."

They joked and bickered all the way to the BAU, where they got into the elevator together, the topic of conversation now changing to Greys Anatomy.

"You did not warn me he was going to die oh my god I cried for days! And then poor Meredith can't even catch a break, first Penny and then the guy attacking her and I hate that she's fighting with Amelia and-" JJ stopped mid sentence.

"Is that-"

"Oh yeah, she must be the new agent Hotch told us about the day you left, remember?" Emily explained.

"-Elle?" JJ said.

A brunette woman turned away from her conversation with Derek and Rossi to look at JJ.

"Oh my god. JJ!" The agent cried, and the two woman quickly hugged.

"I can't believe it! Hotch never told us you were the new agent!" JJ said, excited.

"Yeah, I wanted to surprise you all." Elle said, and turned her attention to Emily.

"I don't think I know you?" She said.

"Emily Prentiss." Emily said, smiling warmly.

"Hi, Elle Greenaway. Nice to meet you." Elle returned the smile.

"And you all know each other?" Emily asked.

"Yeah, I used to work here actually." Elle explained, and the three women walked over to Derek and Rossi.
