Unsteady

"JJ?"

After arriving at the hospital in the ambulance with Emily, JJ was stood in the waiting room when she heard her name called. She turned round, and found herself facing two of her own doctors from a few weeks back, and one she didn't recognise.

"Hey, Amelia." JJ said, turning to face her.

"Is everything okay?" Amelia asked.

"I'm not sure yet. It's Emily, she was injected with something on our last case and she's just collapsed." JJ said, pacing around.

"Do you know what she was injected with?" The new doctor asked.

JJ shook her head no.

"Okay, well they'll run a tox screen and they'll figure it out, and then they'll treat her." Meredith explained.

JJ nodded, still pacing.

"I'll go and check on her." Meredith said, and walked into the trauma bay Emily had been taken into.

"This is Addison, by the way. She's my sister. Well, kind of, it's slightly complicated and not a story for right now, so we'll say sister. Addie this is JJ, you remember me saying about her the other week?" Amelia introduced them.

"Hi, nice to meet you, sorry it's like this." Addison said.

"Nice to meet you too." JJ replied, distractedly.

At that moment, Meredith emerged once more.

"She's okay, the drug just dehydrated her. They're putting her on an IV and she should wake up shortly."

JJ breathed a sigh of relief, as Reid ran into the ER, holding Elle in his arms, saying she too passed out on the way.

"Put her on the bed." Addison said, as Meredith started an IV for her too.

"She should wake up soon, but we'll monitor her. The drug is very dehydrating it turns out." Amelia said.  "You can go in and see them both if you'd like."

JJ and Reid went into the respective rooms of Elle and Emily, and waited for them to awaken.

Elle woke first, finding herself sat alone in the room with Reid.

"How are you feeling?" He asked, as she sat up.

"Like you care." She said, avoiding eye contact.

"What? Of course I care-" Spencer said.

"You made it very clear you didn't." Elle said, still staring anywhere but him.

"Oh come on Elle, that was, that was..." Spencer struggled to find the words.

"That was what, Reid, huh? You made it perfectly clear you felt nothing towards me, so don't act like you care now just to make yourself feel better about what happened to me." Elle snapped.

"What did happen?" He asked. The worry was clear on his face, and Elle hesitated before she answered, battling herself internally, half of her wanting to just get him out, half of her never wanting him to leave.

"Nothing, alright? JJ interrupted him. Now just get out of here would you?" Elle said, and laid back down.

Spencer waited at the door for a moment, unsure, before finally walking away.

A doctor walked into her room. "I'm Addison Mont- are you alright?" She asked, because Elle's eyes were red and puffy.

"I told him to leave... and he left." Elle said.

Addison pulled up a chair beside her. "Oh goodness, that's outrageous." She said, some sarcasm clear.

Elle have her a look. "I didn't actually want him to leave!" She said.
