1 month later...

"Today is the day." Rossi said, as the steady beat of the monitor surrounded him.

He exhaled shakily. "I tried to do everything you would have done Hotch. I promise I tried."

Beep. Beep.

"I'm sorry I couldn't save them all." A tear ran down his face, which seemed to have aged immensely in the last few weeks.

Beep. Beep.

"I wish you'd wake up for today, Aaron. We need you. I need you."

Nothing, the same beeping tone that had been driving him insane for weeks.

Amelia came through the door.

Rossi stared vacantly as she did the same tests she'd been running for weeks. Always with the same result.

Amelia finished, and gave him a sympathetic smile. "I'm sorry. I know how much you wanted him here today."

Rossi smoothed out his suit, and stood up.

The music started up, and they took their first step forward.

"I wear your winter coat"

The weight of the coffin was immense on the shoulders of the coffin bearers.

"The one you love to wear"

Rossi, Spencer's father, two of his cousins, and two childhood friends moved in unison, the beginning of the procession.

"So I keep feeling close"

Behind, Elle walked alone, wearing one of his shirts, her eyes fixated on the point she was walking towards, not daring to look at the oak coffin in front of her.

"To what's beyond compare"

JJ, Emily and Garcia were behind her, holding a bouquet of flowers each, tears spilling from the first note of the song.

"The moments wakin up"

Derek finished the procession, slowly moving on his crutches.

"You catch me in your eyes."

Sat already in the pews, Lexie and Aisha waited to be joined by the others.

The song continued to play, until they reached the front of the room, and laid the coffin down, and they all took their seats as the final chords played.

"And I know every day I say it, but I just want you to be sure... that I am yours."

Derek was the first to give a reading, once the service had begun.

Aisha helped him up, and he crutched slowly to the front of the room. He cleared his throat, and fixed his eyes solely on Aisha, the only direction he could bare to look.

Shakily, he began.

"From the day I first met Spencer, he knew everything and nothing all at once. He saw the world through a lens most of us never will, and understood things we could never dream of. Our own Einstein. And yet, a Kardashian could be in this room and Spence wouldn't event blink." Derek said, with a  sad chuckle. "But he was so much more than his intelligence. His kindness, his loyalty, and his unwavering love, was what made him a valuable asset of this team, this family. The way he would crack a joke with the smallest sly smile, so aware of the joy he could bring and so proud of it. He once swapped my music for the sound of him screaming in my ear, for an entire flight, and barely glanced up from his book, a lip twitch the only indicator he'd done anything at all. I wouldn't dare claim it was undeserved, either, and I will miss that banter until I see you again. But for now, rest easy, little brother."
