Third POV
Severus Snape was on high alert, he had been since he passed by James Potter on the train and he didn't do anything. He noticed that James and Sirius both started talking to others, and the big shocker being that James has not asked Lily Evans out. Sirius' brother Regulus had been hanging out with him more, even revealing the true nature of his home life and that their mother was abusive, especially towards Sirius because he was a Gryffindor, and now she had been disowned and kicked out, there no longer was a Lady Black.
Severus was walking by and saw Sirius and James by themselves, they were actually doing work. He watched Alice Fortescue come by and ask them something and was then sitting with them also doing work and asking questions. On an impulse he walked up, "What getting new people with your pranks? Are you gonna pull one on her?"
"She was asking us about transfiguration work, and we're helping her," Sirius said as if he was talking to a child.
"Why? Why would you help her?!" Snape snapped, seeing the blonde lower her head.
"Because given her shy nature, she can still come up to and ask for help so that's what we are giving her, now would you leave?!" James snapped.
Sirius had been trying to reassure the blonde that they didn't mind her being there and helping her, she was helping them learn healing techniques after all, "Oh you're going to try to sleep with her too? Just because you can have a sob story about your mother hitting you?" and that was when he knew he messed up, seeing Sirius tense up and the fury in James' eyes, but it was punch he received from Frank Longbottom and the disappointed look on Regulus' face that did it. Oh, and the fact a crowd had formed. All looked surprised about what he had just said, and disappointed, even the Slytherin's had that look.
"He probably was actually trying to get into her pants," Lily muttered and was startled seeing the glare Marlene had given her as she walked over to Sirius who was quite uncomfortable, "Well clearly he's got a thing for blondes," Severus said and then suddenly the face of a skeleton/ghost woman screamed into his face making him scream back.
Lily watched the situation, a distressed Sirius, an upset Alice, a disappointed Regulus, an angry Frank, and a tensed up and furious James. She won't lie, James with that expression is a bit scary. Then came Pandora who was worried for her shy blonde friend, followed by the new fifth year and Xenophilius. Lily wondered why Lovegood had a big satisfied grin on his face as soon as Severus started randomly screaming in fear. Lily had also been curious as to how Potter had immediately relaxed once le Fay had touched him.
Cassia had been walking with the Ravenclaw couple of the group when Pandora froze, "We need to find the others, Severus started something he will regret once he learns about his heritage," she said and they quickly went to find the others. They got their just in time to see an angry James, they heard Severus mention the abuse the Black brothers experienced, a tensed Sirius and Frank trying to comfort Alice while Regulus and Marlene tended to Sirius. Suddenly Severus started screaming at nothing and the group of Guards/Demigods all peered at Xeno who had a shit-eating grin on his face. As a son of Dionysus, he could make others hallucinate, he had an easier time as he also had magic, and Dionysus willingly taught him when he came to camp knowing he was being bullied, he used it as a defense.
Cassia had gone up to James who seemed to be keeping his temper in check or at least trying to, she could feel the temperature lowering and knew James had been coming into his other abilities. She knew the temperature lowering was a sign that he was losing his temper, she knew that because her and her father are the same way. She went up to the tensed Potter and put one hand on his arm and his tensed nature relaxed. They hadn't gotten much time alone as Cassia was adjusting, and being introduced to the Black brothers, and James really just wanted alone time with the pretty girl.
Soon Xeno made his illusion stop and footsteps were heard and the teachers arrived, "What happened here?" Slughorn and McGonagall said practically at the same time. Flitwick just stayed to the side noticing that his involved students were just there as support. "I was asking James and Sirius for help with transfiguration and Snape came up and started accusing them of pulling a mean prank on me or getting me involved and then claiming Sirius wanted to get into my pants," Alice said leaning onto Frank.
"And then he revealed something about my brother's and my home life, that I told him to see if he would loyal enough to not say anything, guess not," Regulus spoke up.
Professor McGonagall would have asked about the other parties involved, but Sirius seemed to be frozen and she could see the new Ravenclaw student making sure James did not lose his temper. "Professor, we were actually helping Alice, you know her shy nature, she came to us for help, we gave her help but we were interrupted. We have to done anything to him this year, people can change. Besides we think of Alice as a little sister and think her and Frank are perfect for each other," everyone heard the calm monotone voice from James. McGonagall knew he was not lying and was keeping his temper under control as he didn't call her 'Minnie'.
"20 points from Slytherin, Snape get off the ground," Slughorn said, not happy.
"20 points to Ravenclaw and Gryffindor for being support," Flitwick added. Regulus gave them a not offended look as he was being supportive but a housemate had done the damage. When the crowd had left, Frank had turned to Marlene, "Okay, do your magic," he said. The Blacks and James knew there other abilities, like Frank's ability with plants and Alice's use of light, she could make small balls of lights appear and sometimes naturally glowed in a dark place if she wasn't paying attention, and her ability to heal. Marlene like many of her siblings, could charmspeak, "Sirius, relax," she spoke and the teenager slumped into the blonde. As Guards, they could get around the abilities of demigods unless they were willing for it to happen.
Regulus wanted to stay with his brother that night so the Gryffindors would let him in, James and Cassia went a different way towards the Ravenclaw dorms, he wanted to finally have a bit of alone time with her.
"So," he started, becoming nervous, "U-u-uhm," he said, suddenly nervous.
"What's your favorite subject here?" she asked, saving me the embarrassment.
"Oh, transfiguration, it's one of my favorite things because you can fool somebody by thinking they have something but not, but also it helps in an emergency," James said.
"Oh yes, I heard you pulled pranks and some were not very nice," she said.
"W-Well, I don't know why we went through with some of those, cause yeah some were mean, but I'm thankful we avoided doing the mean ones to first years," he said.
"Well, my favorite is between Runes and Charms, they can also be tricky and protective. My mother always taught any of her children the charm/ward that turns unwanted visitors that are there to cause harm to turn them into an animal, normally it's a pig," she said innocently but James saw a small sinister smile that he will admit did some things to him below the waste.
Unfortunately, there time was cut off, they had reached the Ravenclaw dorms, "Isn't the door supposed to give a riddle?" James asked.
"Normally. He wouldn't for both of us. We don't intend harm and we're Hogwarts Heirs," she said quietly in his ear. They both knew the portraits listen and report unless they like you, they would have to listen to them anyway but they did not want Dumbledore knowing about what they would inherit. "Bye James," Cassia said and kissed him on the cheek before entering her dorms.
James walked back into his dorms with a huge smile, he ignored Evans who was trying to get his attention, ignored the confused looks form a werewolf and a rat, and sat next to Sirius on the sofa. "You're already whipped," Sirius said.
James nodded, keeping his smile, "Yep."
