Chapter Twenty-Eight

The group did one last session together about the OWLS testing. Those proficient in certain subjects led each section for studying. Severus and, to his surprise, James, led the potions section. Then Sirius and James did transfiguration. Frank led the herbology section. Alice had the small part of Healing as it was a new class. Cassia and Marlene did charms, while Xeno and Pandora took divination. Regulus was the one who ended up with DADA and had Severus and James adding in parts. They looked surprised James knew before they remembered he was a legacy of Thanatos a.k.a Sirius-and Regulus'-future-step-father-as-much-as-he-wants-to-deny-it. Soon, others joined in, seemingly more interested when Severus, James, and Regulus explained the 'Dark Arts' half of 'DADA'. The students began to get curious of it was 'Defense Against the Dark Arts' why don't they learn more about what they're defending themselves against? The Slytherins began to get more friendlier looks from those with lighter cores once they realized the Dark Arts and Dark Cores are not the same thing.

Remus, Peter, and Lily tried to join but Fenrir Greyback with sharp teeth exposed and gold eyes on display, Professor Minnie the Cat looking like she's about to hunt, and a flaming Cassia showed up in front of the three, each seeing of their own fears making them scream in the library and run away.

"Are you sure your father isn't Phobos?" James asked Xeno quietly.

"Nah, their fears are just well known to me," Xeno responds with a small giggle, drinking the grape juice he snuck in.

"Do you get high off of grape juice?" Sirius asked.

Xeno giggled, "Nope," he answered.

"He does," Pandora confirmed. Xeno squawked in response.

They all completed the OWLS and Cassia plopped down over James' laying position. "Too much shit has happened for one year," Severus mumbled from his own position. Others noticed Regulus resting his legs over Severus' and hid knowing smirks.

"Well your stepfather is killed, you find out about you're half-brother who tells you have a Lordship from your mother. You find out you're a demigod and you were under the influence of things. Then you find out your bullies were also under the influence of similar things and not in control of their actions, ones a legacy and ones a grim shifter. One of us died, three parents died. Sirius and Regulus will likely have a stepfather. Cassia's parents are likely mates. We found a horcrux. Missing anything?" Frank sassed.

"We still have to get the horcrux possessing my ancestor's diadem," Cassia spat out before cuddling back into James' side.

"We will, dear, don't worry," James said calmly.

"Am I correct that Xeno, me, Alice, Marlene, and Frank cannot touch it?" Pandora asked, receiving nods in return. They were aware children of Underworld Gods could tolerate the horcrux better.

Soon, the end of the year came. Cassia and James were going to sneak into the ROR. Severus had now started to get along with Peeves as he had found out the poltergeist could sense Hades' children and grandchildren and had watched over Severus once he noticed Severus falling into shadows. Severus had found Peeves, "Peeves, come here," he ordered nicely. He also learned the poltergeist was more willing to listen if you're nice to him. The spirit made his way over, "Yeeeeees?" the poltergeist asked.

"I need you to distract Helena Ravenclaw so we can take the diadem," he requested, knowing from Cassia, James, and Sirius that Peeves also responded better if you requested something instead of ordered, aka being nice to him. Peeves beamed, he got to do an order for a son of Hades and cause trouble, then he paused, "Baron?"

"He already knows," Severus said, knowing Regulus was taking care of the Bloody Baron. Regulus had taken some lessons from Sirius on how to bring his Grim aura forward. Sirius, having been a Grim longer than Regulus, picked up quickly from his father how to do it. James had pointed out when they still went to help Remus Lupin instead of just bringing a Prongs and Padfoot illusion to distract Moony that Padfoot sometimes seemed to scare Moony off but James couldn't figure out why. Now he knew, James hadn't been affected by Padfoot's aura because of his heritage. So, to bond with his brother some more, he taught Regulus how to bring his aura forward in his human form while Severus went to learn shadow travel from Cassia and James.

Peeves sped off with a loud, "HELENA!" resulting in many paintings jumping so high they exited their frames and entered the ones above them.

Severus shadow-traveled back to where he knew the others were hiding and was yanked under the Invisibility Cloak. Severus wanted to know what a soul piece like a horcrux felt like after seeing his father and brother's anger along with James and Cassia's disturbed looks. They saw the ghost of Helena Ravenclaw running away from a speeding Peeves before Cassia slipped from under the Cloak, 'I want to find my ancestor's diadem,' she thought as she paced back and forth between the ROR. The door appeared and they all entered.

Severus entered and was immediately hit with something that just triggered disgust and anger. "That's a horcrux," Sirius said quietly to him. The Slytherin looked over at the Gryffindor knowing that was waaaay to quiet for him. "The House of Black is sensitive to that kind of magic. Regulus didn't come because he hasn't been exposed to it as much. My mother loved using them when I was around," he explained, "It's what causes some of our known craziness because we have the capability to do it. When Bellatrix entered the LeFay property for safety, she was immediately put on a purge of some sort to get the amount of Black magic she had been exposed to back to the amount that comes from Family Magic."

As Sirius was explaining, Cassia had found the diadem hiding in a small bag and grabbed it with the tips of her fingers and walked out. They hurriedly grabbed their things and ran down to the train where Regulus and the others were waiting. "What the fuck is that?!" Regulus spat, immediately feeling it. James held his had out to Cassia who just gave him a look, "Dear, I don't you holding the disgusting piece of ma-soul the whole time," he said. She smiled sweetly and handed the diadem to him.

"Should we be offended he almost said magic?" Regulus asked his brother.

"I think we should," Sirius responded almost instantly and then the two gasp in offense at James who stuck his middle finger up back at them. "Save it for Cassia," Sirius immediately countered making Cassia turn bright red.

"Okay, I don't want you two getting affected by this, and the others can't be around it much. I know its bugging Severus so Cassia and I will sit somewhere else, okay?" James said. The others nod and the couple went off hand-in-hand.

"Do you think we could torture him through his soul pieces?" they heard Cassia ask in a sweet tone as she practically skipped by the Gryffindor's side. James let out a loud laugh before they saw him nodding before they were out of view.

Braeden was about to leave for the arrival of the children when Hecate appeared in front of him, her eyes wide as she stared at him. "Hecate?" Braeden questioned.

"Am I your mate?"
