*Ambrose POV*
"I think I'm gonna do it."
"Do what?" George asked, setting his pencil down making me turn to him.
"I want to try asking Conner out, like on a date and be my boyfriend."
"And how do you plan on doing that? Because when you're with him it's just like you're in a world of your own where you forget about the tasks at hand." he complained, making me begin to feel like I'm spiraling. Why hadn't I thought about that?
"Okay George as my second-in-command it is now your job to help me find out a good way to ask out Conner." I nodded at him, making him sigh while melting into the chair.
"Okay uh let's see doesn't he really like teddy bears?"
"Yeah he had a couple of them, so what's your idea?"
"Okay hear me out. What about you head down to build-a-bear and ya know make a bear."
"And how is that gonna help me ask him out, a single bear is not enough." I complained, making him sink even further into his chair making me wonder how he hasn't just fallen to the floor yet.
"Well for a matter of fact did you know that you can put a customized sound in the bear. I bet you didn't know that did ya. Since you can't get the words out in front of him just record it and put it into the bear and give it to him like that. You even have time to run away before he listens to it and then get a response from him later. How's that for a bright idea?" George explained, making me grateful he's my second-in-command.
"I'll give you this one George, that's a good idea. Now, get up and go." I commanded, getting off of my bed where I was laying.
"Go where? We're supposed to be working on our homework right now."
"We can do that later, right now we have to go to build-a-bear."
"Am I some kind of chaperone that has to go with you? Why can't I just stay here being sad and lonely that I don't have a mate yet." Complained George making me wave my hands around as if it would make him move faster.
"It was your idea AND I don't know the process or even what bear to get so you have to help me. Now let's go before they close for the day or else I'll just drag you there tomorrow."
"Okay dad, I'm getting up now." he whined, making me glare at him as he walked past me. Rolling my eyes at him I sped up and passed him before heading down to where my truck was. Hoping into the drivers side and starting it up while George was dragging his feet to the passengers side. I typed in the address for the teddy bear place before hooking it up to the car, and with that we were on our way.
"Why is it that whenever you go to the mall you can never find a close parking space?" asked George as I made what felt like ten loops around the parking lots.
"It's the universe telling you to use your legs."
"But walking around the mall is already a lot of work already and this is just making an even longer walk."
"Well boo hoo Georgie, but hey what about this– when we get finished here how bout i buy you a pretzel from Auntie Annies?" I suggested before turning off the car.
"Will you get me whatever I want?"
"Yes, anything. Now let's go." I said finally hoping out into the Georgia heat with him as we made our way into the mall. Squeezing our way past the other people scrounging around the mall we found our way into the renowned Build-A-Bear. Walking towards the bins of bears I take in my selection.
